Got my first Omega on 23 Feb, a pampered 64K beauty.
On 18 Mar windscreen cracked half way across.
As per insurance company advice I called their elected glass replacement people. It took them ten days to get a screen to my area. They insisted on taking the car away to fit it and returned the car at 9pm in the dark.
Checked it over yesterday morning in daylight and guess what ?
Two dings, drivers door and front wing, also scuffed paint on opposite wingall of which "must have been there when we collected it"
I can't prove otherwise - beginning to understand people who go on rampage.

Nasty. Yes, that would set me off nicely.

I would have never let them taken my car as its in good nick and they generally dont give 2 monkeys what happens to it.
-
let alone giving my car to some unknown driver, I never let my car lonely in those cases of repair :(
been there , got the lesson before..

Get in touch with your ins company and tell them what happened. The screen fitters are their agents and they are responsible for any damage done.

If you didn't sign a condition report before they took the car away, you've only got yourself to blame.
If you didn't sign one, WHY didn't you? If it had been my car, and there was no paperwork, they wouldn't have taken the car. End of story.
I collect cars all the time(it's my job), and I wouldn't take a car away without one, simply to ensure that my arse is covered in such circumstances. You'd be amazed how many times I hear "There isn't a mark on this car", and I have to point out the dents, scratches, split bumpers, scuffed leather and the big oily footprint on the carpet!
