Hi all,
My other car 1998 Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 (well actually the missus' car) has had a problem with acceleration for quite a while now, and even though you can get good performance, it doesn't like a heavy right foot.
Driving with little pedal depression is fine, put your foot down and it falters (almost like missfire or fuel starvation), but will 'g' you back in the seat with just the right touch.
Any ideas anyone?

If you can actually feel a misfire, I would say a weak spark so plugs, leads, coil packs need checking.
If no misfire, just sluggish performance, perhaps a collapsing hose or blockage in the induction or exhaust systems, fuel starvation, MAF problem perhaps? Knock sensor triggering ignition retard?

Thanks - perhaps not a missfire. Could be many things, but guess a collapsing hose / blockage or something similar would give the same symptoms, and lacking fast acceleration.
Sorry to be vague, just thought someone may have had similar problems. Get the pedal just right, and you wouldn't think there was any problem at all.

Could the the throttle pot if it's hesitant when snapping the throttle open but OK if you nurse it open gently.
A check of the live data might reveal something if you can get it to a suitable code reader.
