Title: Is my car trying to tell me something?
Post by: 05omegav6 on 04 April 2011, 00:27:42
The last month has seen the following motoring incidents:

1. Car gets reversed into. >:(
2. Engine swallows a spark plug core. :o
3. Car gets repaired, new bonnet and bumper etc. :y
4. Am now unable to get bonnet open, back to repairer on Monday. >:(
5. Engine pulls like a train, yet won't idle properly and intermittently runs like a bag of gutless bolts. >:(
6. Has had new plugs and coil packs to no avail. >:(
7. Lost count of the number of times the plenum has been off whilst looking for an air leak. >:(
8. Air con condenser has been replaced, just needs a re gas. :y
9. HBV just started leaking, 2nd one in 60k. :-/
10. To cap it all, o/s/f wishbone is getting soft after 6k. >:(

Could I ever forgive myself if I gave up and chopped it in?  :-/

Thinking either a white VXR8 manual, insurance permitting, or a 4x4 Insignia. :-/

36k for a vxr8?
that's bluddy cheap for what you get.

I'd want an estate version tho ::)

Likewise, esp for work. ::)

I think I heard that the estate was going to be available when the updated one comes out... 8-)

Might have been dreaming though. :-/

Ex demo/pre reg Insignia VXRs are tidy value at £26k. :-/

Sounds like another clapped out vauxhall.

Perhaps Emu, but even on five cylinders, it's closer to having a proper engine than a desmond. ;)

Certainly seems like you have had more than your fair share of problems Al! I think you should be commended on your patience!  :y

All the frustrations melt away on a good piece of road when everything is just right. 8-)

Trouble with that is that not all the punters are appreciative. One chap yesterday said that it was a very smooth and comfortable car, and for a diesel it's alot quieter than most of the cabs he'd been in. :-/

I hope he was p!55ed.  ::)
