Whats everyones average MPG, I'm currently getting 27.5 in a 2.5, Is this about the norm?
Jon

I would say that's a decent figure, if from a manual just above average, if an auto then it's doing well.
My 2.6 manual gets up to 32 mpg realistically and can go down very low when it wants ;D
-
Yeah its a manual.
-
my old 2.5 man used to average 28 mpg ( mostly trips out of town ) :y
-
Mine's still managing 25ish mostly short runs in town, and in spite of running on 5ish cylinders. :-/
-
24.4 mpg in a 4.0 auto :-X
Cruising at 60 gets roughly 30 mpg. bout the same as my old 2.0 manual omega :o
-
55.3 MPG ( but then again it is a 1.6 Diesel Citroen) but does have the load capacity only marginally smaller than an Omega Estate! :)
-
I'm not telling because it reveals my driving style ::) Mind you, I was running a bit late getting to Cambridge this morning and managed to improve it to 23mpg average :-X
The trouble with LPG is that you don't worry as much! ;D

Indeed, my last tank, including a run to Nottingham on Saturday, was 17mpg. I was, as usual, fashionably late ::)
-
3.0 MV6 estate
25.6 mpg averaged over the last 500 miles.
That's mainly 10-15 mile trips on 30 and 40 roads with the odd motorway stretch (at 60!), and carrying 200-300kgs of books on the return trip

Should add... The was the MID reading (which is accurate on petrol) so probably around 17-18mpg on LPG ::) ::)

-
Just got 32.7 out of mine over the last day or so (400 miles) ixture of motorway and town driving. Barclaycard love me ;D ;D ;D
-
Only just got mine ;D 3.0 MV6 manual average 29 mpg managed to get it as low as 14mpg on a private road of course :y
-
I was interested/surprise to see that the 3.2 on my drive is showing an average of 31.5 mpg. Ive never had that from any Omega ! must have been a motorway cruiser.

That's unreal average for a 3.2! I average about 25mpg in my 3.2 auto estate, on mainly back roads and town. On a motorway run, I can get it to average around 32mpg, but thats being very sensible, and staying well away from the cruise control! :-/

Apart from taking my daughter up to Reading uni in Febuary all of my trips have been in town with the majority being three mile round trip to sons school twice a day, according to my onboard readout I am getting 18.6 mpg :( :'(

I have reset my mpg today and am taking some of the lead out of my foot ;D
-
I'm getting 17 around town and never go over 2500 rpm.
Tried everything to get it to do more MPG but no good :(

The only way to do that trip on Motorways is via the M25 from where you are! & that's a lot further than 60 miles
-
Not all motorway but the A road is the A34,
M4-A34-M3-M27
Didnt go over 2500rpm got 35+ mpg ! :y

Thats low for a 2ltr and as for 2500 rpm how the hell do you get it to move if you don't go over it (thats coming from a fellow fourpot owner).
Think it needs a really good service or try driving with the handbrake and sports button off ;D ;D ;D
-
From my 3.0 auto elite I get 35 with cruise control on at 80 on the motorway (very highly maintained though), currently on 18.5 around town. I've got a heavy right foot and love the low down grunt that propels you into small gaps at roundabouts!
Manual mv6 the same on the motorway (no cruise), 26 around town - I give it less stick as it hasn't got a proper gearbox!
-
48 mpg out of my 2,5 diesel on a very very long journey from penzance to inverness. gawd, thats a hell of a drive.
-
I gettin about 26-27 ish out of my 2.6 miggy, on a daily 46 mile commute. Although it does need a good servicing. I keep putting it off but its gonna have to be done soon. Not much difference with or without cruise control either.
-
As I've mentioned before, get a steady 38mpg from my 3.2 manual :D
Pulls cleanly in 5th at 15+mph - so I just use 1st to pull away, then 3rd, then short-shift to 5th.
Don't get me wrong - if I put my toe down, the consumpton goes west BIG TIME :o ;D But the only time it does that is trying to teach the local Chav's a lesson on the East Lancs dual carriageway... :-X
Speaking of that, an Impreza Turbo WRX got the jump on me tonight - I wasn't expecting it, so short-shifted (as usual), then realised this muppet was tryng it on! So dropped it a cog, and blew him away!
I know they say ex-plod ain't always tuned, but this thing of mine has some bloody grunt - more than my last ex-plod for some reason :-/ :)
