Post by: Crazycarzowner on 15 April 2011, 18:06:01
Just had a new scan tool delivered, was a bit apprehensive if it would actually work. But after some bu$$erin about wi me laptop to get the drivers sorted.....IT WORKS!!!!! and its bloomin brilliant! Accesses engine, gearbox, ABS, Transmission, C-locking, immobiliser, Sunroof, programs keys, system tests & live data. Not bad for £30 and it alledgly works on all Vauxhalls 1995-2009.

I'm guessing you got one of those 'scanners' off evilbay for that price!  ::)

Careful how you use it though, as I have heard that anything but the Genuine one (the proper Tech2 daddy of them all), when trying to program new 'keys' can mess up the immobiliser ECU and effectively killing your car :o

If it is one of the fleabay variety then I don't think it  can be discussed here

Yes you're probably right.

However, I'm just trying to be helpful as hate to think that someone is pleased about their new purchase and inadvertently go and kill their car because of some software issues.  So not actually discussing about the product directly.  Nothing to say in the rules that some helpful advice that they may want to consider and save them a lot of heartache at the end of the day :y

No discussion allowed about illegal products, that includes cloned code readers with dodgy software. Sorry.
