last year my mrs insured her car over the internet and we never printed any documents of as we didnt have a printer.now its been taxed on line but it must be about time for renewal as we are getting letters from other companys.
but we cant remeber who its insured with and havnt recevied a letter so is there any way we can find out?

Bank or credit card statements :question :-/
-
You should get a renewal letter when it's due unless you've moved house?
-
did you not even save the docs on your computer :o
No way I can think of, except maybe a friendly chat with the police, they should have access to the info.

You can check if you are insured here:
http://www.askmid.com/
Maybe you could write to the MID?

I beleive it can be upto a fortnight out of date. :'(
the DVLA may sell you the info for £2 or £3. sure they can do that sort of thing.
I'd pop in the police station, with all your docs, and explain and ask if they can find out you, your trying to avoid breaking the law after all.

You will need to provide the insurance information if you are unfortunate enough to have an accident, so it'd be worth getting to the bottom of it.
I can't believe a company would not even send a paper certificate. Not much to ask for a sheet of paper, an envelope and a stamp considering how much insurance costs. >:(

You print your own off if you insure via Swift Cover, they don't send out paper certificates. :-?

Get yourself a gmail account or similar, then when you get confirmation email it can be put in the saved mailbox and is stored online so if your computer goes tits up you can still access via another pc

when I had this problem, I asked a friend of mine (who works for an insurance co.) to look it up on the MID.
