Title: Should I get shot of the tractor
Post by: TheBoy on 10 July 2007, 20:25:47
I feel I'm neglecting the MV6.

What do you reckon?

Does the mv6 need attention?

Or are you just fed up with the tractor?? ::)

If (with another gearbox) it runs fine.... unquestionably yes.... just not necessarily to a forum member though!  ;)

Overheating is cured.  The gearbox is now behaving, absolutely no idea why.

If you bought it as a project the answer is sell to make a few bob. You've cured the overheating and changed the box so take a profit and move on.

I expect to make a loss on it, as I have replaced lots on this.

Not too sure what has cured the overheating, suspect it was the oil flush.

There is, imho, still an issue. Seems to be too much pressure in cooling system.

Is it still losing coolant through the cap?

If you don't mind me asking, what would you be looking for in it's current condition?

The bad points are:

It appears to have a coolant leak, Tunnie and I have seen it drip from bellhousing, and as A/C not working, its not from that. Cannot locate it, though with recent weather, haven't really been able check as the whole rather thing is wet.

I think the coolant has too much pressure - possibly related to above?

A/C not working. It wasn't when I got it, then it sprung in to life and worked until gearbox failed, then hasn't since. So, will require regas.

Front heated seats not working, haven't checked why.

Front bumper not fixed properly one side. I have a new mount, but can't work out how its supposed to fix on  :-[

Tyres will need replacing, esp rears. Wrong wheels.

And although behaving now, I'll have to mention autobox.  A couple of weeks back it lost drive again twice.

Not sure what its worth, though I expect to make a loss - I've bought rad (£234 - GM), stat (£15), waterpump (£70), other odds and ends inc gearbox :(, and a fortune on coolant, flushes etc etc.  I would say it owes me over a grand easily.

I may sell cheap if I take out the Bose ;)
