Title: Working out M.P.G. and cost per mile.
Post by: Brikhead on 08 May 2011, 14:53:47
Maths was never my strong point but I THINK this is correct, any body fancy checking for me!?

Start miles:- 85645
End Miles:-   86308
Total litres:- 141.15  (£190.21)

Litres to gallons is 141.15 divided by 4.546. Which is 31.05 gallons.
Then just divide the total miles (663) by 31.05
Which gives 21.35.
Compared to 21.4 which is on the trip computer readout!

Cost of fuel per mile is £190.21 divided by 663 miles, equals .29p per mile.

Does that seem right?

The petrol ones are normally within 1-2 MPG (unless LPG, then its a bit optimistic)
