Just say what you think, rather than a poll, only allowed 1 guess, subsequent guesses may be deleted.
What have I done to break TBE, and was it my fault ::) :-[
-
Aah... There's a clue there! You broke something.
Rear Multiram Unit?
-
Buggered a coil PAC. Or snapped a plug off.
And of course it's your fault.
-
And it's TLE BTW ;D
-
Well done whatever it was. 8-) :y
Beating the keek out of troublesome equipment is the only way we can maintain sanity.
I'm all for it and consider you a kindred spirit. :y :y
-
Hmm,
stripped sump plug or broke oil filter housing? :(

Ooh... Good call, although I'm fairly sure it's been done recently :-/
-
Smashed windscreen, and not your fault :y
-
From another thread.
"Broke TBE. Need bits before it will move now."
-
Snapped sparkplug off...

Damage to a brake caliper. :o

The thought had crossed my mind, especially with those crappy Michelin tyres, but thought word would have spread in this direction quite quickly after the work a month ago ::) ::)

I should point out those Michelin tyres are truely awful. Its the first time ever I have considered binning tyres with 5-6mm still on. And I've tolerated some crappy tyres in my time....

Diesel instead of petrol??? :D

More to the point, do you have legal recourse with the dodgy used car salesman who sold it to you with it's lifetime warranty? ::) ::)
I'd be guessing something around the plenum area?
And btw if you need bits quickly, I've got a 2003 3.2 spare atm if you need bits from that...then you can replace those parts at a later date.
-
I reckon he was working on it and broke sumat.... again!
Needs bits before it will move ...?

It's OK. He'll be laughing. Warranty void. He's modified it. :-X

Where bits = tunnie's desmond? ;D

Is discounts roughly the same as postcounts?
What did you reckon yours was when Daz lost them? If you are near (I know, as I've looked through the backups), I'll give 'em back. If you're wrong, you lose everything ;D
-
So, come on then...give us a proper clue? :P
Here's a BIG clue...
I bought it from a used car dealer, who claimed it had FSH.... ....the mistake was I believed that ;D

Oil like treacle, lunched the big end bearings?
-
Lol, is the cambelt THAT overdue then!
-
Oh Dear... I hope TBE isn't about to go on holiday to Nottingham ::) ::)
-
Oil like treacle, lunched the big end bearings?
I'd be surprised, he's probably changed it 50 times since owning it...

I think if it was a cambelt gone and bent valves, we'd all know about it by now :-X
-
Is it something to do with noisy lifters, like the epic saga with the MV6?
-
Come on TB,do tell :D :D
-
Did the air freshner get sucked into the intake and mash the valves? ::)
-
Cambelt failure without a doubt ;D Hence his recent water pump purchase . If you are into preventative maintenance you need to replace things before they fail...
-

Yes, blatent bullying from the Admin staff as you can see.
Which is why I have been searching for an air freshener that TB may actually like.......

i think hes been driving down the road and reached out to admire his magic tree when in a split second a caravan caught his eye in a lay by,what a lovely example of a mobile home he thought and then as he looked back to the road OH MY GOD what road hes on the grass banking heading for a hedge(crash)straight through the hedge and down the field spinning out of control towards a tree CRASH the branches have gone through the radiator...smashed the covers and wrapped all around the pulleys forceing the cambelt off which has flown through the air and landed in a river.damn hes thinking how am i gonna get home now without ringing tunnie to pull me out and tow me home and then(what if)yes what if i use the branches wrapped round my pulleys as a cambelt it could just work,10 mins later and some chewing gum and brum brum the bullet fires into life..woohoo as he wheel spins up the field and just manages to get back on the road behind the lovely caravan he was not long before admireing.
moral of the story is you can laugh at his air fresheners but he really does like his MAGIC TREES 8-)

Well, it doesn't run properly on LPG any more, and I don't understand why. Seems happy enough on petrol though, not that its moved...

Only LPG bits I've touched are removed the injectors whilst taking plenum and inlet manifold out. Put it back as I found it, running small tubes the same way it was. I did initially forget to plug in 3 injectors, but didn't start car at this point, as LPG ECU bleeped due to this.
Not put lappy on it yet, come in for some food, as I forgot to eat today :-[

So what's it doing? Lumpy, switching back, stalling, what? Why take the inlet out?

I'll ignore any cold symptoms, as that probably still needs tweaking. When hot, it idles well on petrol, switch to LPG, and within about 10s it starts to hunt (so badly, occasionally it temporarily drops back to petrol).
Hold it at 1500 rpm on the throttle, switch to gas, and immediately you can feel what seems like a misfire.

So, are you 100% sure you've got everything connected up correctly as it was fine. I think the slight hunt is going to be near on impossible to cure, although at some point I'd love to experiment with the nozzle sizes/pressure to see if we can improve that :-/
Check the pipes are connected correctly again and that you haven't crossed them over by accident.
Of course, it could just be that it needs re-calibrating again as it was done with the poorly plugs/coil packs :-/

Now the bloody water pump has at last arrived, I've gotta pop the plenum off again to fit the cambelt... ...or shoudl I wait until its due (need to check when, but its this year)...

Not checked for fault codes, or plugged lappy into lpg yet - ran out of sugar, had to come in for food...
-
Before I started stripping it, I cleared fault codes from engine, which resets the trims on DBW V6's. That might not have helped its cause, though I seem to recall the trims being reasonable, slightly imbalanced, when we calibrated?

Do I recall mention of re setting trims in Essex befor calibration? Or did we not in the end?

And yes 8% more, on, possibly bank 2, can't be sure though.

We did and they seemed to be pretty reasonable when we were calibrating it :-/ Could be that they had crept out again and it needs to settle down :-/

Mine's just arrived too :y It might be an idea to pop the plenum off and chek the injector pipes anyway if it's playing up, but wait until you've plugged everything in and checked for faults first ;)
