I know the fact I am now driving one makes them someone more noticeable, but I am surprised at how many I actually see on a day to day basis. Not the pikey 2.0l that I have though, the 2.5+ saloons are all over the place!
-
I saw 4 others on one short journey yesterday, although funnily enough there were 3 2.2's and one diesel. Is that coz the price of fuel has driven all the v6's off the road?
:'(

See quite a few on my daily commute - though see more Audi A4 and BMW 3's...

You can't miss them as the all cut you up, pull out on you at junctions, belt past then hammer the brakes on to get infront of you ... etc. etc. :P

Not many pass me :-X. Esp if I'm on the way home (marginally less anxious to get into work in the morning for some strange reason)

Unfortunately I don't have that luxury with only a 2.0l, although its still a nice drive just doesn't have the guts I would like at times :(

Yea, ive definately noticed a difference now I have changed my route to work. Used to go the shortest route (about 20 miles) but was mostly smaller roads with alot of junctions etc. Now go a slightly longer route but only really 2 main A roads after my village, economy is alot better, still not great but I knew it wasn't that good before I got it.

I do a lot of trips up to Leeds / York. Before getting the Omega, no matter what I was driving, I'd always feel the need to break the journey somewhere. Now, unless a pee stop is required, I just dont feel the need to stop. Only problem is keeping the speed down..... 8-)

Press the sports button, floor it, and do not look at the fuel guage, quicker than you think..... :D :D :D

There no stops, back gas stop at Reading both times, 1 pee stop in lanes today as M5 was closed so diverted via Stow

When I first picked the car up, I knocked it into Sport and didn't notice at first. Drove most of the way from Redditch back to Lincoln in sport mode.
I do use it occasionally, but only if I want to get past something, it never sounds happy at around 6000rpm haha ;D

If you want to do Brackley to outh of France, eg Montpellier, in a day, just under 900m, you need a comfy cruiser, as (apart from Channel crossing (breakfast)) the breaks will be 1 for food around Dijon area, and emergency slash stops...
When we used to do that trip, we'd go in convoy with friends, using walkie talkies to keep in contact.
One year, we 'only' went as far at Montelimar, there were 3 cars, Mrs TB and I in the MV6, my mate, his missus, his girl, and a 'borrowed' girl (his wife's niece) in a Vectra-C, and my mates brother, his missus, and a toddler in a 1.4 Meriva. Whilst we didn't cane it (didn't much creep over the 130kph limit), we knew the Meriva was always going to struggle a bit with the trip. What became apparent to Mrs TB and I, just via the walkie talkies, is how tired the other people were getting, and they were all quite ratty upon our arrival, barking at each other, Mrs TB and I were chilled, and not even phased when the site managers (was one of those continental 'Yello Villages!' type mobile home parks) said they didn't know about Mrs TB and I, and wasn't sure if they could accomodate us :o.
It is, simply, the Omega is a fantastic mile cruncher, so relaxing, and always feel refreshed/alert, even at the end of a 14hr stint (Mrs TB and I do driver-swap, as we don't have time for breaks, so one gets in 2 or 3 hrs kip, then we swap again).
All that said, I think continental roads help, as drivers seem to know how to drive - even in Italy, mad fekkers - rather than the ignorant, self-centred, arogant tossers on UK roads.
-
As an aside, if you are doing those continental trips with friends/family in a convoy, apart from food (and fuel at same time - blokes fuel, whilst women order the food) breaks, resist the urge to all stop together for pee stops - what we found best is if the lead car just slows to, say, 100kph, those stopping will be quick, and will catch up within 20 mins or so.
If you all stop, you tend to get chatting, and easily lose 30mins every time.

Funny I should see this..
I just did Bracknell->Crewe->Bracknell (not on one tank, had to stop in High Wycombe to fill up on the way back, and I filled it as I left this morning!) .. I didn't see any other Omegas.
Not one.
Plenty of other cars a similar size (BMW 5xxs, VWs, Audis, newer Vauxhalls, people carriers etc) but no Omegas.

I reckon the Omega is one of the most comfortable cars I have driven
