Title: Poly wishbone bushes
Post by: Elite Pete on 17 May 2011, 07:40:04
I bought a set of poly bushes for an MGF i'm working on and went to collect them from a bloke in Chester. It turns out he has a factory on Angelsey that produces them so I asked if he can make some for the Omega wishbones. All he needs is the dimensions of the front bush and he'll give us a price to produce them. I've got my powerflex ones here so i'll send them to him so he can measure them so watch this space :y

He probably could do the rears, I would need one for him to get the dimensions off though

If you're talking about the rear bush of the front wishbone I don't think a poly bush would give enough flexibility as the wishbone pivots on this bush.

Would be good news if we can get another source of the front bushes though. :y

O oh, getting excited. ;D

I'd be up for a pair of those donuts probably. Decided to do mine, as the rear feels a fraction wondery. And I don't think it's the higher wind we've been having lately.
All out of good ones though.  :(

Would this be the same firm that used to trade as Deflex? If so I'd be very dubious about using their stuff.

I bought a complete car set for one of the many Capris I've owned, and only used the TCA bushes to get the car though it's MOT. Every bush was covered in moulding flash, pinholes and was of a really crap finish. The sleeves looked like they'd been machined with a drill and a blunt spoon. This was true of the other sets I've seen from friends who also tried saving a few quid and not bought Superflex or Rallydesign's own brand.

I'm also waiting on a set of ploy wishbone bushes for the Omega; it's hopefully the last bit of fettling I'm going to do.

It could be, the bloke I spoke to was called Stuart and if you look at the contact details on Delflex web site there's a Stuart there but saying that these MG ones i've just picked up look fine.
