Title: Fitted HID's and new grill (now with pics)
Post by: o-meg-a on 18 May 2011, 14:56:08
finally managed to get round to wiring in my HID's.
They look so much nicer on the car, with those clear lenses and whatnot.

Grill is one i just got off ebay recently.
Will get some pictures up in a bit.

As for wiring, the only sod in fitting the lights was the off side one. for some reason, due to the design of the light or the position of the front cross member, for the life of me i could not get the light through the gap.

ended up having to remove the hard back casing of the HID compartment and then it slid straight in.
Absolute SOB to get access to on the inside then to put the screws back in....

done now tho. and very happy.

Here's some pics with it all done.
I think she looks good. Grill sets it off and I couldnt afford an Irmscher one before anyone says anything.
And this one was cheap as chips.

I like it!! which is all that matters lol

It's slowly speccing up.
From lowest of the low specs....to leather, elite alloys, HID's, grill, chipped,

now just got to fit new middle box and back box from eternal, and then the wishbones and rear doughnuts.

then WIM, and i'm done for a while then lol

you won't need the h/lamp washers for the mot as they are not part of it :y

I've heard many conflicting opinions.....

but looking at the MOT regulations and inspection criteria....no they are not legally required.
I may well fit them eventually anyway....

But like i said, for now i'll just keep a cloth in the car for them.

Like the colour and grille looks very tasty.

Full working set of lamp washers with all the gubbins on the " bay of fleas "Item number: 230622995614.

Expect that price will climb quite a bit as quite hard to come by as a set.

No worries...I was quite amazed to see a full set for sale with all the bits...all you would then require is a set of headlight bottom trims with the washer jet holes and even better if you could get them in the existing colour...that might be a bridge tooooooo far though.

That's a really good looking grille, it suits the car far better than an Irmsher jobbie imo  :y
