cars like that at the price, make me wonder if its worth doing work needed to mine  :(

Cost of 4 new tyres is £350, if it has decent tyres on it, makes it very tempting.

Got a proper gearbox too!  :D

That's the very reason I have finally bailed on mine, the repairs would cost me 3 times the value of that car and it would still only be a 2.5 at the end.

But you do buy an unknown... At least with your own car you know what condition it's in ;) ;)

Which kept me in my 2.2, figured everything that needs doing:

Rear Springs, Shocks, Brake Pads, Battery, Tyres

Are all standard service items, they would need to be replaced on any car

You're absolutely right, if it was only mechanicals needed doing i'd be on it now. But my problem is the doors and arches are all starting to rot out, and I know that for this age of car i'm going to have to spend a lot of money to get it looking good again.

I do wish I was in the position to keep this as a weekend car but I know that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

What's 'rare' about an MV6?  ::)
