Title: A pleasant Saturday
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 25 May 2011, 09:17:43
Did our first job this Saturday, after re-viving some mobile mechanics work on Omegas again :)

My victim was a tidy 1998 3.0 Elite, requiring Oil cooler replacement, new cambelt kit, water pump, full service, and much coolant flusing.

Forgot how much I enjoy it - I was in my element working away on the V6 in the sunshine.

The whole job took a total of 6 hours, with no major complications.

What's even better, my customer found my old website, a cached copy, on google!

New website will be coming in the very near future :y

Did you ever get to the bottom of the lack of grunt from the 3.2 James ?

I think the poor connection of the DBW connector was partly responsible. It seemed a lot better, but not 100% up to scratch, after sorting this.

The  second half I think comprises of some more basic issues.

For example the oil that was in there originally was like black glue), so things like plugs, filters etc need to be kept on top of for a while, and just see what improvements occur.

I'm not dissatisfied with the performance, it's certainly not a pressing issue.

I suspect there is possibly a tiny air leak, but I will be renewing all the inlet seals etc, and ensuring all is well before starting the front end LPG conversion :y

Next job on mine is, Wishbones, Brakes, Tyres and Geometry (the latter 2 will be booked into WIM!)
