Title: Pain in the Rear Suppliers
Post by: star_whites on 09 June 2011, 07:54:17
Ive been looking for a facelift bonnet in Z147 and eventually found one on e-bay and though great at last.

Was happy with buy it now price and thought Im having that, however they are based in Heathrow and as Ive killed the 3.0 estate I thought I will have it shipped to work only to find out that the supplier wont risk shipping it as they have had one damaged before.

Im sure some one up there has got it in for me at the moment  :'(

Understandable though, mate of mine bought a second hand door to replace his dented original and the one he bought was in worse condition than his original after parsehole force had finished with it :P

I tend to agree, I'm not sure I'd want a bonnet to get couriered to me as it could easily get damaged. I think if you're patient one will come up close to where you live, there are plenty of Z147 facelift Omega's out there! I'm currently waiting for a Z147 facelift Omega being broken in/near Bristol so I can rob the door mouldings from it. I know these could be sent quite easily but I prefer to collect.

I wouldn't send any body panel TBH ;) ;)

ISTR that RobG sent a door via courier and it got trashed. Luckily he had another which he sent via "OOF Courier Services" which arrived intact :y :y

Heathrow is just around the corner from me, I'm going home next weekend to Brackley (NN13) - I can pick it up (assuming it should fit in the cabin, as some idiot put an LPG tank in the boot  ::))

Anyone is welcome to collect from there & take it further north  :y

Facelift bonnet will fit in an estate just.  8-) Has to go in sideways with the seats folded. You'll never get it in a saloon.  :'( I had to replace mine a while back after a short, but shouty conversation with a deer, so speak from experience. Was from same supplier incidently...

Angle grind one of the B pillars out and it might. ;)

A roof rack would be the best plan, IMHO.
