I've bought a Peugeot 406 diesel estate to do some running about in and to use as a general workhorse for about a month.
I phoned my insurance company today to switch cover from my Mig to the Pug. I thought it would be pretty straight forward and thought I'd have to pay an admin fee.....
The girl took all the details and put me on hold for ages..... ::) Just when I'm thinking something's up, she comes back on the line and says ' Sorry to keep you waiting Sir, your additional premium is £174 ' :o :o :o
Could'ave knocked me down with a feather :( I politely told her that I thought it was outrageous and declined her kind offer.... >:( >:( >:(

Exactly!! >:(
Just to add, I renewed the Migs insurance about a month ago and paid upfront, so the policy has 11 months to run ....... :-/

Assuming it's only temporary, ask them to cover it as a temporary vehicle ;)

there's something very odd about pug 406 diesels giving very high quotes!
incidentally i paid around £340 to insure my 1.6 £1200 bora this year, yet to insure a £5000 mercedes S320 its only £400
i dont know how they work this stuff out

if your only gonna have the car for a short while why try www.insuredaily.co.uk or dayinsure some of the comparison websites offer short term insurance
