Title: Quick lpg questions
Post by: tigers_gonads on 11 June 2011, 15:29:48
1/.   To comply with COP 11 am I right in thinking that I need 2 vents to the outside for the tank vapour box ?

2/. Am I right in thinking that I need to run a 5 core cable from the back to the front of the car for the electric's ?

thanks  :y

1) If running enough cable to do all the connections then yes ;) Just run the fill and the feed pipes through vent pipe and that'll be fine :y

2) You only actually need 4 core for most tank applications, unless you have a different sender (Hall effect) which may need the 3rd connection to it :y

Is that for a estate with a donut tank paul ?

I'm having a bad day  :-[ :-[

My idea was to run the cable and the front end feed though the rubber gromit in the side of the old spare wheel well towards the front of the car ?

The feed from the filler ( mounted near the petrol filler ) inside the frame at the rear of the bumper round to where the filler will be ?

The vent was coming out of the vapor box and strieght out through a ready made hole at the bottom of the wheel well ?

I'll bow to your better knowledge on this if it is wrong or you have a better idea  :-/

I'm a virgin at this lpg lark  ::) ;D ;D

Right... If you run the wire and front end feed pipe like that, how do you intend to get it into the vapour box without compromising the seal? ;)

I used 2 vent pipes and ran the fill and feed pipes through them. 1 in the bottom of the wheel well through the plastic plug at the rear on the driver's side and one out horizontally through the driver's side of the wheel well at the rear again.

I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow :y

Oh... And it looks like I'll be assisting in another Estate conversion in the very near future ::)
