Title: No more noises and a full MOT
Post by: Vamps on 14 June 2011, 20:44:57
Well got the car back at tea time nice and quiet and with a brand new MOT......... :y :y

The noise was the water pump, it was not changed when I had the cam belt done, I thought that was just on the v6 :-[

As the belt was damaged I have had a new Cam Belt fitted as well, so all OK now.....£70.00 labour which I thought was reasonable, and he takes it to another garage for the MOT. :y :y

24 hours ago I was ready to scrap it..... :D :D

Funnily enough I had my waterpump replaced last week and I too had that horrible noise - now sounds so much better and I got mine done for £100 supply and fit (vauxhall part too).

Mine was £98.74 including the cost of the pump, and included the fitting of the new cam belt and tensioners, these parts excluded in the above figure..... :D :D :D :D

OK you win lol - I got mine done cheap (or so I thought) as it was only done 18 months ago when I had the cambelt changed but it has failed already - but outside the 12 month warranty period but the garage done it a bit cheaper than normal due to the premature failure.

Yes a bit of bad luck but it was easily fixed and the car is now so much quieter!
