Title: Another "woody " wheel done .
Post by: Olympia5776 on 17 June 2011, 16:21:27
Just completed this for an OOF member and it should be winging it's way back to UK next week .
It started off as a very nice condition but bland MV6 silver finish wheel.
2 base +3 graining coats , 8 hard polyureathane varnish coats with wet sanding at 3, 6 and last , compounded and hand polished.

Thank you all Gentlemen , I hope our fellow member will enjoy it too .

Re how long , about 4 hours over a fortnight . It's a very small area with no masking apart from the leather edge . Some pieces of furniture can take many many hours due to the sectional masking required when doing paneling and different types of wood graining .
Most intersting piece I have done is the lift in a recently built € 10 million castle over here. It was finished in a grey hammerite type finish and is now a rich burr walnut with gold and ebony inlay. Unfortunatley the rather well known but cloistered owner refuses to allow me to publish any photos  :(  but he paid well  :y
