Title: Royal mail strike = no valves :(
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 13 July 2007, 12:01:58
BUGGER

I ordered my valves yesterday from ebay, and paid £20 extra for special delivery to ensure I get them today. They have been sent, and the royal mail website is still saying that my parcel will be delivered by 1pm when I use track and trace..

1 hr to go now -

Chances?

The fact that the Royal Mail tracking web site is up at all is quite a result. Having your parcel delivered would be too much to expect!

Last time I tried to track a parcel their web site said that their whole IT infrastructure had been taken out by a virus!  :o Phoned them up and asked them to track it and they said ALL their computers had been taken out so your guess is as good as mine.  >:(

These things are so inconvenient - I was going to have a day sat in the warm, watching TV and lapping my valves in, whilst being waited on by swmbo :(

the good news is the Special ndelivery is GUARANTEED. If it isn't there now, you can claim the postage back in full.

The bad news is it is paid back to whoever paid it, ie the seller. They should give it to you though as you paid for it.

ALSO, why was it £20 extra? What did you pay in total? Maximum on SD is £19.45, so they shouldn't have charged over the odds. If it is less than 2kg, it should have been £6.99.

Either way, you are due some back.

I read that too.

The message has changed through "it will be with you by the guaranteed time" to - "it's progressing through our network, please come back later"

Twits... RM knew all along it would not be with me by 1pm... so why not be honest, instead of keeping me waiting inside all morning  >:(

If the seller knew there was going to be a Royal M strike, why the hell did he say special delivery would get here guaranteed.. why couldn't the idiot have used an independant courier that's not on strike :(  >:(

Bingo. The seller has guaranteed delivery today then. He is culpable.

Sentance? 1 month driving that hideous barrow boymobile from the other thread.

Anyway, what diference does the post make? He sent you the wrong ones anyway! ;D
