Got back from Scotland last night after my little girls wedding in Falkirk on Friday, 800 mile trip and 30 gallon of fuel just over 26mpg ::) what is the speed on motor ways again ;) full car and bags and it went like a dream, i now remember why i love V6 Omega's and it has to be an Elite estate.
-
they eat the miles well, Falkirk is nice. That canal lift is a work of art :y
-
they eat the miles well, .....
but consume the fuel even better. :-?
I got back from France last Monday after 1850 miles and 100.3 gallons! :o :o :o :o :o :o

Well mine consumes a lot of fuel, but then again its only 69p litre :P ;D ;D
Thats going to be one fat fuel bill :o
Surprised you've not gone LPG route, towing that pikey van would quickly see fitting costs returned :)

I'll just not open credit card statement when it comes! ::) ;D ;D ;D
I like my boot. ;) The car doesn't generally do enough mileage to warrant the conversion, maybe 5000 miles a year. :y :y And just how much do you spend on a 12 yr old car with 170 000 miles on the clock? :-/
-
Mine was worth sod all when I LPG'd it, but then I did have big commute. So I guess if you only do 5k a year its not really worth it.
All depends if you intend to keep it another 3 years...

Fair point, exact reason MotherT has a facelift Estate for the dogs.
But if you want a Merc, this would keep the dogs in the place, squashed to the back under the acceleration ;D

I'm trying to reduce my fuel consumption, not get shares in Texaco ;D ;D I did test an E320 diesel a few weeks back. For a car running on the fuel of the Devil, it flew!
The R class comes as a R500 though. :y :y :y
-
well if i had 15k to spend ......i wouldnt spend it on one car lol.
But if i had to, and i wanted a fast, reasonably economic sports estate.....
without a shadow of a doubt it would be a BMW 535d m sport touring.

If you want the holiday, you've to pay for it. ;) ;) ;)
Taking the caravan meant that Molly the Mutt could come with us & not have to stop in kennels. SWMBO was happy .................. so by default I was happy! ;) ;) ;)

I did 2700 miles around europe in 2006 when fuel was cheaper.
My old car averaged about 40-45mpg, and i remember it cost me less than £300 in petrol.......
-
saying that.....
1800 miles, 18mpg ish, 100gallons....works out about right i suppose.

Very crashy ride, run flats tram line all over ze place and split the rims. Still crashy with normal tyres fitted. IMO!

Agreed on the ride quality but the performance from that bi-turbo engine is epic ;)

Even the standard 330d is enough to make the Silver Bullet sweat. Apparently ::).
But never fear, the Silver Bullet upheld dignity for all Omegas, and beat the jumped up little upstart, driven no doubt by some junior rep :y
