Title: Cav turbo odd tyre replacement
Post by: maracus on 06 July 2011, 09:29:49
I need a new tyre on my cav turbo. But, as the factory transfer box is still working as intended, I need to maintain all my rolling radius' the same with matching brands for even wearing during use.

Therefore,

I need a part worn continental. Size is IIRC 205/45/17. I was hoping to find a part worn within my tolerance,(about 5mm) but failing that, are there companies that will wear down a tyre to a specific tread depth?

Or will it be a case of stick one on the back of the mig and go 'bed it in' with some number 11's and donut sessions??

Lol  :D :D

There are companies around that will remove tread for you.

They exist mainly for track cars where the full size tread block on a new tyre gives quite a bit of movement so they have thiers cut down to 4mm ish.
