Well I took the car to Wheels In Motion Yesterday and the car feels great now, I had the full geometery done and 2 new front tyres.

That car is from Durham, PY in the Reg.... :y :y

I'm confused.
My car has lowering springs, so is technically a "sport suspension"
But when i took mine to WIM last week he set the camber at more like 1'12.....
like a normal car.
While the backs are pretty much at 3'00 due to loading and springs.

Hopefully that was mentioned at time of application of the clever bits and bobs.... :y

the guy who did it definitely knew it had lowered springs.
We had a chat about it.
Also, he couldn't adjust the rear toe at all because they were completely seized. but said they were almost right, and both had toe in, so could be left.
And of course the rear camber is not adjustable as standard.
Fronts were wayyyy out..
Toe was really far out on both sides, hence chewing through a set of tyres quickly.
Camber was about 1'10 on the right and 1'23 on the left, so he brought the left one out a touch more.
And they evened up the Subframe to get the caster more equal.
-
I mean it was pretty obvious too,
They're bright red!! and brand new.
As well as the wishbones.

here's mine

I doubt very much that they did the subframe/caster AFTER camber. That (subframe) has to be done first.
And is it worth more than 1.10 on a TD? (apologies to TD owners :P )

no that's just me mentioning what was done, i didn't mean it was in that order.
And yes personally i think it's worth while in a car that's driven pretty hard sometimes.
it handles well, pulls well.
It's pretty quick considering. Has plenty of torque.
Roughly 160bhp.....I would say that a sports setup would be worth while......
but that's just me.

You're on a durham spotting mission lol.
you got mine as well

They do adjust settings to suit individual cars there...
Its not quite one size fits all.
The LSC, and those Large wheels may contribute to the settings.
Plus Jim mentioned 2 new tyres - were they down to uneven wear, or just worn out?

Not quite right Vamps, they changed the system. They now use the first two letters for the region i.e. "KS" meaning it was registered in Northampton.
::)

They where just worn out, needed replaced anyway!!
-
I'm pleased she's driving better..... The reason -1d 30' was set was the OSF camber adjuster maxed out, but it's far better than the -2d 30'.
-
I see,
that makes sense now.
Also mine drives great, tracks straight and handles well.
thanks

No its not, its a KS, which is Northampton
Its the first 2 letters which are the location of first registration on the newer style number plates, the last 3 letters are just random.

i really need to get my tracking adjusted, does pull to left, and since a mate used it i now have a bit of wheel wobble around 50-60. how much was that lot?

tracking is a waste of money on Omegas. A full geometry check is required.

boooo.
how much am I looking at for that?

how much am I looking at for that?
£60.00 +VAT @ Wheels In Motion for OOF members :y
-
Depends on your local place.
OOF have an agreement with WIM at their head office only (Chesham) for a special rate which I'd need to look up. Something like £60+VAT?

That saves me looking it up :y
That price is only for Chesham, their franchises cannot do it for that price

On this note, are their franchises as good as Chesham? Cardiff is the most local to me, so there is where I'd like to take mine (I definitely need geo setup done). Anyone have experience? Can they contact Tony? for advice?

I would say, if you're going to pay £112 or whatever it is to get it done by a WIM affiliate,
It makes it worthwhile to drive to Chesham to get it done when they only charge £72......
that way you know it gets done properly too.

I didn't realise the price difference was as substantial, so yes, definitely worth the trip along the M4.
Just dont want to get there and WIM tell me my Wishbones are shagged ;D
-
i have used Nigel Langs in Bolton as have several other members and always sorted me out OK :y
-
ok cool, chesham doesnt seem a million miles from me either! ;D

If theres any doubt, I'd change them personally. Then visit Wim.
But I'm sure any slop, tears or rips In the bushes will be evident after a quick jack up. :)
