Title: my meggy went for MOT and failed
Post by: Michael v6 on 30 June 2011, 17:40:48
well today the bargin omega went in for the MOT.  :-[

It failed on both front lower wishbone arms, n/s track rod end, 2 x front tyres, steering idler arm and rear brake pipe.

In all i suppose its not to bad considering, all parts now been ordered and just waiting for delivery  :y

I've spend 800 euros just for "even think about" passing MOT. Plus four summer tyres, but she's worthy.....

Given the price of Omega's would it not be cheaper to buy another one? where do we draw the line?...... :-/ :-/ :-/

True, that is the dilemma we have with swmbo estate, great body and general condition 1998 so worth 2d, and going to need all new discs and pads for MOT in September, which I accept are service items, but..... :-/ :-/ :-/

But look at the trouble you had with your new one when you got it ;) ;)

Mind you... Now it's sorted you could give it to her and get yourself one with a full compliment of cylinders :-X ::) :D

Absolutely... :( and funnily enough that move had crossed my mind, and swmbo when her car stalled last weekend, she accused me of putting a curse on it... :D :D :D

Still have a couple of niggles for you to sort out at the Lakes, just to keep your hand in and help your recuperation... :y :y

Oh, and do you know how to replace a dash bulb?

Don't forget, AndyC at Drive Vauxhall is still offering 10% off TC prices on complete disc/pad kits. Makes them very reasonable indeed!  8-)

That link is not working.....

I have looked at that Andy, but, when we had a problem a couple of years ago the auto electrician had forgotten to re connect something behind the dash, when pointed out he had is sorted in absolutely no time at all, so there must be a faster way, although I accept he knew what he was doing..... :-/ :-/

just an update, i manages to get all the parts excluding tyres for just over £80.

a good mate of mine has kindly given me 2 tyres which has has sitting in his shed for awhile so thats a huge saving for me.

i think £80 all in for the parts is good so add that to the cost of what i got the car for and i suppose it's still a bargin

all parts will be fitted myself and i have a 10 day free retest so fingers crossed all will be good in the end  :y
