Just checked my MOT - it's expired, I know it's going to fail on the handbrake and exhaust centre box passenger side. :(
-
Easily forgotten as it's about the only thing we don't get a reminder for. ::)
-
I had an old Astra 1.8 Sport a while back I did the same thing with. Suddenly thought one day that I hadn't done an MOT in a while, checked my paperwork and it was 6 months out of date ... I had been driving it daily!
-
Did the same on my old Transit. I knew exactly when the MoT was up and made full use of it in the last weeks of it's life. Drove it to the breakers on the last possible day.
Checked the docs when I got home and discovered that I had remembered exactly wrong!
Easily done :o

Yep, done it myself several times!!! ::) ;D

You can set an alarm on your phone, or move it to coincide with the tax if you can afford annual tax. I even think there are websites that will email you if you let them know when it's due. I used to be good at it but have been surprised several times in recent years! :-[ :-[
VOSA actually do a text version for a one-off charge of £1.50: VOSA (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/Mot/DG_192284)

AA - potentially the opportunity to check handbrake next Saturday, if you can make it to Brackley :-/

Thanks, but need a new centre box fitted as well, Mark has kindly said he'll do both tomorrow week.

They give you a reminder slip when they issue you with a new M.O.T.
Peel the sticker off and stick it on your tax disc holder...

If you lose your MOT certificate you can check when it runs out online for free.
