Title: tunnie wants a V6!
Post by: tunnie on 13 July 2007, 15:06:26
right, been commuting to and from the station for over a week now, and seen a dramatic increase in fuel consumption.

Averaging 27 ish mpg on a 9 mile run, goes down to 23  :o :o If I thrash the nuts off it, which is almost every night! I will be doing 400 miles a month max, but thats soon (within weeks) its going to drop to practically nothing!

So I want a V6 (idealy 3.0)... plan is to move to London too. I would like to keep the car, most flats / house share i have looked at offer parking.

So since my facelift is worth a lot still, time to sell and get a pre-facelift V6.

I am after, really, a mini-facelift MV6/CDX/Elite.... not fussed if manual or auto... but manual prefered.

Something like TB's MV6 is ideal,  mini-facelift MV6, i'd pay around £700 ish.

If you guys see something like the above going, then let me know....

Looks like my buyer might let me down on the Estate.

If he does, It's yours for £500 ;)

Cambelt kit is 3k old, as is water pump - I re-fitted it myself when I did the pesky crank seal.

I'll let you know if the guy doesn't turn up later...

Are You going to be in the CC area Tunnie ?

If you are look at LPG as its a Tenner for the Year instead of 8 pound every time you go in and out

If your not then get a beast of a petrol 3.0L :)

Not planning to be in central london..... flats / house shares are too expensive in the centre anyway. So it has to be further out.

Bloody hell thats way more than the 2.2, tempted just to buy and run it, compare the consumption to the 2.2.

i get 32 from the 2.2 on a normal motorway run, 36/38 at a push...

That's because you don't have to thrash it to get everywhere ;)

Well, the buyer turned up, so this Estate won't be available.

To be honest, I've always liked the auto's - and had many - but when I got the manual, I was hooked!!!

mini facelift / facelift would be better, if you can get one at a good price...

Relatively safe left in a station car park all day too, whereas not much else is.  >:(

As a day-to-day drive, i prefer the Omega, is tempting to keep the Senator too. But its just a little too noisey at high speed, and does not ride as well.

Plan is to sell both, stash the cash, and spend £700 ish on a nice MV6 / Elite.

I would like HID's and Bose!

Thats way over priced for a 51 plate!

A facelift Elite would have been nice Fin  :) - I could buy it if i sold the 2.2, but I want something thats not really going to go down in value that much, hence only spending 700 ish, i would only loose a few hundred quid over several years.
