Title: Omega Aftermarket springs advice - Boge Springs
Post by: SJKOO01 on 25 July 2011, 20:45:14
Has anyone else bought either for their Omega or other car, Boge Springs.

I'm after some advice, as I'm not sure if I've had a company try it on or not.

After asking initially on here for advice on some springs, I tracked down a company selling them.  Ordered two rear springs for the mig special, but when I received them today, I'm bit suspicious about putting them on the car  :o .

Came in two different looking boxes, even though they have the same part number, they are two different lengths - About an inch and half shorter / longer than the other :-?.

Anyone able to advise if the part number on the box should be the same part number stamped on the springs?  There's no Boge name stamped on the springs either, and two totally different part numbers, so not sure if these are a Boge number or their other make springs that have been boxed in 'Boge' branded boxes, they weren't sealed either  :-/ .

Appreciate if anyone can help out, as don't want the car staying off the road longer than it has to.  :-[

IMHO  send them back and get a refund  :y

I had Boge shocks on the back of my estate.
They lasted until 3 weeks after the warranty ran out then one of the tinkers collasped  :'(

Thanks for the replies.  Interesting read Jimbob  :o

Well sent off an Email to the company to see if they have another spring in stock the same length as either one, as need to get the car on the road fairly quickly.  So see what they say?

Got a feeling that this is going to be another 'who cares attitude' company that seems to be the normal these days when you have a problem  :-/ .  But we'll see  :-? .

It's not a company in Leicester by any chance?

I need by back end sorting as well, car leans, my mechanic expected to find a broken spring, but no.... however looking at the history, at some time in the recent past one back spring was replaced, I thought you should replace these in pairs........ ::) ::)

If I want to drop the rear a little, never have a 'full load' any ideas of what I should be looking for?

No... These are in West Sussex.

They've got some replacements, that they say are a matching pair.
Only this time, before I sign the carrier form, I'm going to be checking them to see, if they're not then I'll reject them and tell the carrier to send them back as rejected.
