Post by: omegod on 17 August 2011, 18:38:54
I got a mahoosive pair of cats supplied with the BMW but haven't weighed anything in for years, look like 2 the same size as miggy v6 ones. Anyone weighed any into EMR os similar lately?

I met a buyer from EMR the other day. You can't actually gauge what a cat is worth as scrap from it's size. It's totally dependant on what they are made of. 2.5/3.0 cats are ceramic and are worth more than the later 2.6/3.2 cats which are steel. He even said you can't be sure, just by quoting the car model. He gave an example of 2 Pug 406 diesels that were brought to him for scrap. Same model, same year. 1st one's cat was worth £250, 2nd one's cat was worth £40!!!  ::)

Mind you, they were French..  ::) :-X
