Title: interesting first couple days!
Post by: tunnie on 07 July 2007, 09:48:46
WOW, really enjoying this job!! Role looks good, lots of room for movement and a lot of progression. Its the industry to be in, as it can only grow, going to sit around the various teams to see how everything works and fits together.

In my position, I have to know how everything works from start to finish which is good. Its going to take a couple of months but really looking forward to it.

The social life looks brilliant, was going to play softball on my first day but that got rained off. Company launched in Spain on my first day, so got lots of free Spanish food. I was included in the 'ideas' meeting, more free food!

Today even more free food, sarnies, fruits all kinds.

Learning more about the bespoke tools the company uses, all interesting stuff. Before i knew it, we were down the pub! The guy who sits next to me who is the network manage, had the credit card of the CEO! So was free evening  :D

Trouble is, I can't drink much because I have to sodding drive back from the station back home, so i am seriously thinking about finding someware to share, and moving up there. Soak up some of the London atmosphere for a few years.

Would mean selling the Omega though  :'( - Can't / Don't need cars in London

Aaahhh I thought you may get seduced by the London life...  ;D

If you can find somewhere affordable to share then I would say go for it!
There aremore important things to experience in life than Omega ownership!  ;)

Make sure you are a city person before you move - also consider living at home and saving like mad until you get a decent deposit, if you need to stay over find someone who will let you doss down.

If you can park keep the car, you would regret selling it

1. You don't need a car in London.

2. I, however, do need a car, anywhere and always...

3. And indeed it makes no sense, financially or otherwise.

4. ...but neither does replacing the brake discs or doing the cam covers while parked in a busy street.

5. I am secretly planning to try and carry out an ATF change in the street later this month... not a simple task.

6. We are all a little mad!

7. Love Omegas....

 ;)
