Title: Vectra B ignition barrel removal

Hi there, just posting from my phone, got a vectra b, and recently the barrel has been playing up, now iv sourced a 2nd hand barrel (on my hand) but am struggling to remove the current barrel on the car.please any tip will be greatly appreciated as i want to move the car asap from where it originally broke down!!

It'll be similar to the Omega ie there's a hole in the side of the barrel housing that you insert a slim pin (small Allen key) to release a latch.

As above with the addition that the key has to be in the barrel in unlocked position ( for the steering lock) can be a by fiddle but easy to do. Don't for get that if u also have a second hand key with that barrel it won't start the car because of the transponder

Iv tried the above method, but failed! then found out the key has to be turned to position II to be able to remove the barrel, but mine only goes to position I...  :(
