Had the fluid in the AR35 changed last week and took the car on a nice little drive today - about 100 miles on the twisties of north Lincs. Had a nice lunch out too.
The quality of the changes after the fluid change is now very smooth indeed, with changes on light to medium throttle being barely perceptible.
I used the Fuchs fluid from Opie oils and managed to get 5.5L changed using the guide and the B&Q sprayer :y. Will top up in a week or so.
Nothing on the magnet at all and the old fluid looked reasonable. Anyway, after 12 years and 76k it must have lost something as the new smoothness is noticible.
Yet another success story using a maint guide. :y

:y
Changing the fluid is never going to do any harm, and at 76k, that oil has probably done its time :y

5.5 litres.... ....might get a bit more in there perhaps?

I find that the useless student has the ideal build for this task, and its a task that needs no strength.
So I sit and drink tea, and take the mickey, whilst he showers in ATF and gets very tempted to cut the wires to the solenoids ;D

It will have to be in early October, maybe even a mini meet. Might be a bit cooler by then, 33 deg C at midnight last night. :o :o

If only we'd had anything like it while we were in France.
The weather was getting hotter as we drove home. :'(
