is it worth it, or buy a car allready done,? 8-)
i mean my omega is extreamly clean, and dont really want to get rid of it,
im also looking into fitting a V6
-
just buy a new one.... especially if your planning a V6 conversion. too much hassle in my opinion.
But everything is possible :y
-
problem iv got is, even tho my omega, is clean, its not worth a great deal anymore :(
id be lucky to get £500
2000, facelift, 2.2 auto, in silver,
FSH, cambelt done in december, 12months mot, 6 months tax,

I would suggest driving a manual first, if you haven't already?
There is a lot of clutch pedal travel, and the gearbox linkage is poor at best IMO. Save yourself the agro. :y

...and the gearbox linkage is poor at best IMO. Save yourself the agro.
I was quite surprised when removing the manual gear box from my Omega that the gear stick isn't attached directly into the top of the gear box (Mk. II Escort stylie). The gear change felt very direct and precise, not like it was going through a remote selector mechanism before reaching the box.
Far too much 'space' between the gears though...
-
... also, physically it seems a big box, the manual, seems much bigger than I remember an ar35 being.
-
grrrr i can even put it up for sale lol
-
I suppose it would be better to convert a v engine, if at all?
Serek has done a few manual conversions from what I have read on here. Might be worth a pm

manual confersion its few houndred £££
but if you want fit V6 engine in to your car thats will cost lot more then gearbox swap
just good V6 engine cost about 300-700£
then you need exhausts system and lots different bits
IHMO better buy nice 3.0 or 3.2
-
Why would anyone want to covert to manual? insane, imho.... :D :D :D
-
i've only just bought my omega v6 auto, first auto i have ever driven in 27 years of motoring and i love it, wont go back to manual cars now!! :y
-
to each his own.......
last auto I bought, i didn't even get it home before I had to stop off and convert it to manual it annoyed me that much.
-
I have all the parts for a 3.2 manual conversion, I just need someone to help me do it, Please!!!

The last good engine I had I had to scrap, seems you can't give them away...
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1307653505
I had a 3.0 lump sitting around for months before that sold, think I got £250 for it, if memory serves...
...are you sure you have ALL the bits ?
S'funny you should mention that! I'm in talks with a Chap from this site who is looking to convert his auto to manual, what are all the parts required?
So far I've quoted him for a gear box, slave cylinder and pedal box.

Be worth asking your insurance company if they would still cover you and how much it would be, as they would view it as heavily modified.
And I'm guessing it would be cheaper via the insurance, to sell your car and buy a manual v6 in the long run. And less hassle to.

you will need pedal box, clutch, spigot bearing
might need diffrent gearbox mountings as well dont know if you need a diffrent propshaft.

im fine with insurance, iv owned a rd26rddt (iirc) nissan patrol, 600bhp, a 350bhp bmw m3, a supercharged nova 260bhp, turbo nova 300bhp, a 360bhp diesel nova lmao, that was fun lol
then i moved to my own place, and cant afford bugger all now lol
-
imo sell your car( for whatever price) and buy one manual 3.0 or 3.2 .. will be more cost effective and no headaches..
