This might sound like a completely daft question (awaits barrels of laughter) but here goes....
The auto gearbox used in the Omega, is it the same one as used in the Frontera??? Looking at the code GM 4L30-E on the web it states that it was used in several vehicle applications, Omega & Frontera being 2 of them????

I have never seen the four wheel drive set up on the fontera, i believe fontera uses the same engine as the 2.2 Omega..... Must have some sort of transferbox :-?

No Darth I've not really looked under a Frontera b4 either. This would be for the 3.2v6 Iszu engine. The codes for the box are the same, was only wonderin if the transfer box couples seperately or is the g/box modified for the transfer box on 4 wheel drive applications. Just that a friends g/box is dying (slips through gears & sometimes won't engage at all) I think the clutches are knack'd. There aren't many autoboxes out there advertised for the frontera, but the gearbox is the same code as the one used in the miggy, and there's loads of them about. Just wonderin IF, with some bodgin it could be compatable? :-/ :-/ :-/

The transfer box bolts onto the rear of the gearbox (pretty sure you have to remove the rear plate on a 2WD box to do this).

Yeh the 2.2DTi is the same between Omega and Frontera, Frontera has had a multitude of other engines over the years

all Funtractor auto boxes are 4L-30E, but quite difficult to swap over from 2 to 4 wheel drive.
with this sort of thing, it always pays you to hold out for the proper box. same model, same engine, same year.
and I thought this was going to be a 4wd Omega question
