Well the Elite estate has gone to a local body shop along with a cheapo digi camera for the paint repairs that were needed after the pressure washer incident.
I don't get back to the UK until the end of november but SWMBO will be going back at the beginning of October to pick the car up and hopefully there will be pictures of the work, in progress and the finished article.
As this is going to be a keeper and I had a small budget for this I just hope the standard of repair is better than the last 'blow over'
There is a small question for the electronics guru's though.
The dual zone air con displays are missing pixels and I would like to get them sorted, is this an easy fix for someone with 'some' soldering skills or will it be a specialist job?

They are illuminated by bulbs - so its them that go as opposed to pixels.
If pixels have gone (unlikely) then best to replace the whole think. I've got a spare one if you are interested.
If changing the bulbs then do the whole lot - not difficult but fiddly. :y

Thank you, I will get in about it when I get back to the UK.

Please remember though that there are 5 Climate Bulbs in total to change NOT 4 as Vauxhall's computer tells them.

leaving the car on a paint shop without checking the phases means the quality of job is upto the morality values of painter which you can never be sure unless you scratch the paint.. :(
its a hard job especially the preparation period and if the shop is crowded at least your job will be delayed until you will arrive :(
at least you can ask the painter to mail you pictures of phases from close distance :-/

Cem, yes I know mate, unfortunately I live in Spain but the car is in the UK for us when we go back (the wife goes back every month) cheaper in the long run than hiring every time.
I work away from home a month at a time.
I have already been in touch with them today to ask how it's getting on and to send any pictures so far.....
I'm waiting.....
