This is my oldest Omega and I have owned it since Jan. 2000. When I got it, it was a mere 11 months old with 6k on the clock. In the following 4 1/2 years, I put 132k on it. I retired the car in 2004 and now only really use it for shows. Despite my every day car which I love (a 1999 V12 7 Series) this Omega is like an old friend and is instantly familiar when I ever take her out.
It started life in my hands as a bog-standard 3.0 Elite but about 18 months later it got the WAD makeover. Out of interest, I took her to a rolling road session run by the AutobahnStormers (http://www.autobahnstormers.co.uk) and in standard guise (i.e. no engine mods except frequent servicing) it chucked out 245 bhp and 208 lb.ft. I am a little suspicious about the extrapolated power figures but it makes great bragging rights ;D ;D

8-) 8-) very nice bit of kit that james !! ;)

I've seen that on Autobahnstormers before - well nice.
-
well I have to say that even though I prefer the facelift model, that's the best pre-facelift I've seen - and a fine example of tasteful mods, those facelift MV6 alloys round the look off nicely!
Too many people just don't know when to stop modifying the exterior ...

Thank you very much. I came to the conclusion a few years ago that there is a very fine line between tasteful and too far. But each to their own I guess. The only other mod I am considering is lowering 25mm as I no longer have to worry about parking near kerbs.

I've seen that one before on your site, was very impressed with it back then :). Didn't your dads Lotus Carlton appear in a recent issue of 'Practical Classics'?

Dad has two LC's and they have both been in a few mags recently and on the used car roadshow.

Beautiful motor mate.
It reminds me of a 'grown up' version of mine. ;)
Well done!
