Title: facelift elite
Post by: sounds2k on 28 September 2006, 01:03:22
well after promising pics of this a while ago, here's one of my "new" elite .... have had it since May, but it wasn't in regular use for a month or so when I first got it due to its' troubles!

Have fitted a much-needed irmscher grille to the front, nothing else so far ...  ::)

I'll update this with some more (and hopefully better) pics soon ....

Very tidy looking. Those wheels look like they've not seen much kerb either, quality. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I clocked the new avatar earlier on by the way.  ;)

thanks guys ... yep well pleased with the irmscher grille, thought the 'i' logo was more subtle ... not so pleased with what it cost, then again I couldn't be bothered waiting for one to come up on fleabay!!

Wheels have had a few discussions with some kerbs - mainly due to the previous owners - but when I get my hands on an estate replacement, if its' wheels are the same then I'll probably fork out the approx. £300 it costs to have them professionally refurbed at a place a few miles away from here (Lepson's)

Still not as nice as yours though Kev ;)

Tidy, very tidy.  :y

Is the flap missing from your CDC? If it is i might be able to acquire you one.  ;)

cheers Kev  :y

yes, the CDC is flapless ... have a nasty feeling that the front of the unit might need swapping as I've had it off already to check and I seem to remember it looked as though there was more missing than just the flap itself. But they're easy to swap ...

If you could acquire one on my behalf, that would be well handy and much appreciated  ;)

TBH there's very little difference between the facelift MV6 and elite rims ... but IMHO both are better looking than the pre-facelift MV6 rims - plus they're a lot more pothole friendly  ;)

ta! Probably not much more than has been done at present as I'm looking for a manual estate, so don't see the point of spending loads out on a bodykit or suspension as they can't be transferred to an estate. However, I think I may have a long wait ...  ::)

cheers, yes it does ... although it didn't when I first got it, ended up stripping the thing to pieces ... works OK now (well it did the last time I tested it, probably a couple of months ago now  ::))
