Picked this up yesterday. 1993 525iX Touring. Has 9 months MOT and four months tax on it for for £450, and there aren't that many 4WD ones about so thought it was worth a shot :)

This was my old 540i Touring that I sold 18 months ago by the way.

bloody hell thats a bargin! I looked at BMW's for my Euro trip car, ones on fleabay and AT went for silly money!!
Very jealous at that, I would have liked an estate for europe too!

Like every car, you get really reliable ones (if serviced properly) and 'Friday afternoon' ones. BMW are no different to any other mass production car manufacturer.

Agreed, I've driven BMW 5 and 7 series and Merc E and S Class for my job, and didn't find them any more reliable than any Vauxhall I've owned, at the end of the day a BMW is just a badge.
And I thought this was the OMEGA Owners forum not a BMW gallery, the clue is in the name :y

Been there, done that, moved on tbh. I wish I'd never sold the 540i tbh, as in my opinion having had plenty of both (and no offence intended here:)) the E34 5 series is a much better car than the Omega.
Anyway, just thought you might like to know which direction I've shifted in.

I have no problem with members showing their new cars here :y
Although that was the best 5 series, it never really floated my boat. My brother had a 525 for years, seemed underpowered and cumbersome to me. He had a later 5 series, and although a better car, the BMW badge by that time just spelt 'sales rep' by then.

Have to say, this one does go very well, especially considering all the additional weight of the 4WD system on this one. The handling is a major improvement on my previous E34's too. Mind you, my old 540i was fun. 286 bhp is a good laugh. :)
For those that are interested these are the other cars I have at the moment :)
Mercedes 300 SE

My daily runabout (and probably the car I have been most content with in 15 years)
Ford Mondeo LX 1.8 TD. Does absolutely everything I need from a car and cost me £50.

Vauxhall Cavalier CDX 2.0 16v (Bought at an auction for £80, needing a couple of minor bits done.)
