I know, I would have preferred the Pale Blue colour but White will have to do. I don't think it is ex plod though as it has all the toys and mileage is only 144k.

I remember the Senator brochure (which I think I still have somewhere) and I always promised myself that one day I would have the Senator CD with the LCD dash.  Mind you, I was about 12 then and never did manage it!

I also promised myself a Humber Sceptre and this, I may just achieve some day!

You have youself a nice car there - I am green with envy!

In those days plod would have most likely been silver + much abused! Yours looks luvly  :y

Going abroad for a week but when I am back this will be treated to a hand wash, wax and polish and then an interior clean aswell. I don't think I need to spend any money on it, just some time and lots of love.

I'm very envious!!

IMHO, white's the best colour for a Senator, the traffic in front of you parts like the red sea!!

Awsome.

P.S. let me know if you need anything, my garage desperately needs a clear out.

I even have an LSD if you were interested.

Thanks for the offer.  Offside wing mirror is the only item that needs replacing at the moment

Truly a thing of Beauty Gwilym....

I spent many happy years driving Sennies ( & a Monza....)  of All revisions

you want to deal with the beginnings of Rust on the rear arch/door inner seam... sooner rather than later....

the Omega's okay, but it's not really in the same league for Solidity or Reliability, or IMHO the extreme end of the handling envelope, the senator was always very assured and progressive, and stable.....

i did something like 750,000 miles in them....

But I have to admit, I prefer the analogue Dash.....   the Digital ones always looked tacky to me, and of course in some lighting conditions........   much harder to see.

also, watch out for Fusebox overloading , you need to visually check it regularly.....  signs of trouble are any darkening of fuse bodies, and distortion  of the fusebox contact mounting block....   it's fairly common .....  Fan speed Switch being also a common failure... and in some cases the two are related...  as the fan controller starts drawing excess current as it's contacts carbonise...  it'sa bit of a bugger to get at and clean or change.. but it's a good idea to do so...

also the main headlight switch...   goes "dicky" with age and starts needing replacement or re-building every so often....

I've toyed with the idea of getting one and restoring it to showroom condition... but with 3 cars already....  the drive way is crowded enough...    and the Garage is used for other purposes...

so I just go a bit misty eyed and wistful over them instead.......

(if they had done a senator estate as a production model, I might well have still been driving one ! )

enjoy it....   they're lovely.

Max

You'n'me both Max!

Irmscher did pilot one or two, but they never made it into full production as it were. 4.0 version of the 24v 3.0 too with 280 BHP off the shelf!! Yum!

2 of mine had 3.6 litre conversions   .....  12 valve models...

D reg Late REV A, and an F reg Rev B, the Rev A was the quicker, more nimble of the two, but the Rev B was So solid and assured it made up for not being quite as quick out the gate, by being more composed and smoother through the bends....

slightly better top end on the B as well due to gearing...

and not really any thirstier under normal use than the std lump

Unlikely but bit hard to tell in this weather. Bought it on the understanding that it didn't work but then everything else does so who knows?

I assume then Max, that both of these cars you speak of were Irmscher 3.6L 12v conversions? If these are Irmscher vehicles, Were these cars full Irmscher conversions with complete Engines, Suspension, Interior and Bodykit or just increased capacity engines??

Anychance of some more details about your 3.6L cars please Max? ;)
