Thanks, i like it,
It goes back to my childhood when the car i wanted was an XR4i 2 door in red that had the bi-spoiler on the rear,
I did this years ago when i had my elite, it looked nice on that aswell as it was black.
getting stainless steel exhausts done on it in the next few weeks, going to have sports cats fut on and then bypass the middle boxes back to the rear box ;)

I like this car alot. looks good. How much was the body kit out of interest?

My car needs a respray after some toe rag keeyed it up. would be nice to get the kit fitted at the same time. would set my 18'' alloys off a treat.

Well The front bumper would set you back £1000 new i got it a couple of years ago for £52 as the bloke on ebay didnt know what car it had come off :o
The rear i paid full price for around £400,
The sills are from a Holden Monaro Valvaline GT car that had an accident so got them and chopped about 2"s off them  got them for about £50
The headlight brows are about £20 sell them on ebay etc etc,
The rear wing spoilers come in at around £200, got mine brand new with brake light for £73 on ebay
if you want the kit outright you will be paying in the regin of £2000, you just have to keep your eyes peeled for bargains on ebay etc. ;)

mines done 90k and id love to spend 2k on it to make it look like yours, but with the list of problems she has with her at the moment i think the money best spent sorting them out

Very Nice!!!

Does the Mantzel power box make much difference? Is it just an empty box that bypasses the up and down airpipes for the dual ram thing?
Title: Re: MY IRMSCHER MV6 3.0V6
Post by: chris-b on 21 April 2007, 23:22:02
Yes its just a box that replaces the up and down pipes, personally i think it does make a big difference to the power, i think it makes the car lots sharper in most gears,
If you now somebody that can fabricate one i would gladly send you the dimensions of the one i have as it is the same size as the original mantzal one!
hoping for my tax return this week so i can get my stainless steel system made, the waiting game is the hardest thing when you want something!!

Hi,
The Hose's are from www.viper-performance.co.uk, really cheap and have a hose for every occasion!
I bought the resonator from courteney sport back in 2001 and my mate had a copy made in stainless steel that i have in my car now(the original is in alloy and has the mantzal logo cast on the top)
And last but not least is the Cone filter that is one of these cheap £30 type that you can get anywere, i had a pipercross viper on my last one and it was £200, this one does the same job,
There is no noise from the cone filter as the resonator seems to kill the noise so the engine sounds normal!

Meant to add, the mantzal power box was about £500 when i bought the original, i sold it on ebay about 31/2 years ago and got about £380 for it but my mate had the one i have now made and never fitted it so i bought it from him for about £200 ;)

Very nice, I like the mods you have done to the engine bay, however, I have been hesitant in fitting the cone air filters.
Title: Re: MY IRMSCHER MV6 3.0V6
Post by: chris-b on 13 May 2007, 13:44:36
The cone filters are fine as long as they have the shroud around them like mine/pipercross Viper!
The other type that are open (you can see the foam) are more likely to draw in warm air!
They can sound a bit boy racer like, but with my power resonator the sound is cancelled out and it sounds sweet!! ;)

Hi All,
Finally Got an exhaust on my mota the other day, ended up with a Jetex system and am pleasantly pleased with the sound of it :)
I still have my double 'D' Irmscher silencer and was wondering if it would fit onto the stainless steel jetex pipes, i always thought it wat made of mild steel but have noticed the black paint peeling off it and it looks like stainless underneath!
Anyone got any ideas if the Irmscher backbox is s/s or not??
cheers.

Hi mate. You have to isolate your box. Its made with steel and is's mounted after the radiator. That makes the air gettig hot in this box. Warmer air means less oxygene in air. And that mean less power :)
I had my own box not isolated before and that was a disaster. Now i isolated it and its much better.
Remember - the temperature is your enemy.
P.S. Realy nice car!!  :y

Thanks for that mate,
I have now added full leather to the list, so she feels a bit more luxurious now,
I got a leather interior that i have never seen before in an omega, it has really thick leather and the stitches are not the same as any omega, so i think i was lucky and got a special order bit of kit!! :)

I saw an elite on ebay that had been re-leathered with a VERY nice looking dark grey leather, had light stitching, and no piping, very professionally done and looked the korean meatballs

Hi all
I have an MV6 cloth interior (pre facelift) for sale, very cheap, if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer, the fronts are heated and have airbags that are intact, the front seats are not on there frame as i needed the original frame on my car but is a 15min/seat job to swap with your originals!!

OH MY GOD,
My 3.0V6 Has let go and one of my heads have blown!! >:(
What a great new years present!
£1000 and the job will be done, :'( :'(
My engine has only done 70.000mls,
why the hell couldnt GM lower the rev limiter so the V6s could handle the stick,
This is the 4th V6 i have had and 3 of them have blown!!!
Been a vaux nut since i was about 4 but am slowly getting p--sed off >:(
Does anyone know if you can get stronger head bolts/gaskets for the V6??

Booked in for 21st of jan. :), cant wait to get back in her, both heads skimmed and refitted by two blokes that used to work for lookers and opened up on there own so i think i will be in good hands, just looking forward to some sweet V6 motoring ;)
