Some of you will know me and Loo-knee went down to Slough to collect the latest project (well not much of a project) last weekend and what a bargain it turned out to be. Its a 99 Elite with a genuine 84600 miles on the clock, loads of recent jobs done like cambelt, tensioners, water pump, crank sensor, 4 recent Pirelli p6000 tyres, new exhaust last year and its fully spec ie CCRT700 Bose stereo with built in phone and factory sat nav and as a Brucie Bonus all 4 of the heated seats and the Climate Control works. On the drive back from Slough we didn't go much below 80 and it averaged 34.4 mpg, the only problem I have noticed is the cam cover gaskets are leaking so they are being done tomorrow then it will have the gearbox oil changed and a full service before being sold. Some pics

Looks tidy - why was it bought as a project, what were the suspected faults?
-
I bought it unseen for £300 with tax until the end of Jan so wasn't expecting the car to be upto much
-
Turned out to be quite a bargain then. :y

Looks good for the money mate!

It certainly has, I will cash the tax in at the end of the month that'll be £100 so including petrol, 12 month MOT gearbox oil change, cam cover gaskets and a service, say £200, the car owes me £400 :y

I would keep the tax on the car, they tend to sell easier with tax, you can always take it off if the buyer knocks you too much ::)
-

The seller thought the gearbox was a bit clunky, but on the 200 mile trip home it performed as normal but I thought I would change the oil and filter just to make sure ;)
