Alright I shouldn't complain as mine passed with no real problems, but I just hate having them done, especially this time as I had to leave the car and pick it up later instead of standing over the tester as he did it (not that I don't trust garages or anything)!
Had some advisories but nowt to worry about:
Front indicator (both) slightly discoloured
Rear child seat fitted
Plastic sill covers fitted
Can not see condition or wear of front/rear break pads
Must admit I'm surprised the wishbone haven't been picked up yet, been meaning to do them for last 1 1/2 years (parts till in the boot!) as it pulls a bit.

Bulbs are a common one, the orange paint slowly peels off the surface.
Some of the others are quite amusing.

So what does he want you to do? Remove it for a 3/4 of an hour while he tests the car?

...... and? :-? There's lots of cars where you can't see the actual structural bits of the car due to plastic covers.

I had the same for my Astra earlier on in the year. You'd have thought braking efficiency would have been enough, but apparently he has to check that the pads aren't about to run out of lining!

My Astra's pads didn't! Think along the lines of a Rizla!! :o The car hadn't been anywhere near the road (under its own steam/diesel) for a long while and I just used the MOT as a check on its overall road worthiness. I didn't know they'd just started to charge a re-test fee. :'(

It's all very well, but that fact that advisories are issued is noted on the MOT certificate so if you sell the vehicle on it is still tainted, in a way, and could put off a potential buyer. All for a load of trivia anyone with common sense would have realised.

I liked the pads bit.... ;D
As the omega would have been up in the air......he would have been able to see the condition/wear of the inside pads....so should tell him what the outside pads are like ::)
I can see the condtion of the outside pads through the alloys......but i guess it depends what sort of alloys you have / havent got

prefacelift mv6 alloys are easy to see through...
