Picked her up on Tuesday, already done 400 miles in her - love her dearly. She needs the tracking done, is due for cambelt / tensioners / rollers, and is desparately in need of a good clean, but all that pales into insignificance when I drive her.
02 plate 2.6 elite auto - ex government despatch car agency motor, hence the extra interior reading lights over the rear and passenger seats. Apparently ministers needed to read documents when being ferried around at night! Leather is is really good condition, and absolutely everything works as it should! 80,000 miles, £1950. I'm delighted.
Rear parking sensors! woohoo!

Glorious engine in there somewhere, that i'm about to become a lot more familiar with

SO much better than a Mondeo.

Alloys need refurbing:

Lovely leather - the passenger seat looks like it's been barely used

Solely occupied by the blokes in government who make bad decisions, passenger seat back to be refitted this evening:

80,000 miles and everything works properly. Gotta love a luxury car for cheapo money:

A surprise addition: Reading lights on stalks! Both sides of the rear, and over the passenger seat too!

I did deliberately hold out for a facelift elite as I really wanted one. I was really, really lucky with this one - it has a fully stamped service book from a government agency, the leather truly is in mint condition, and it's been well looked after (apart from the tracking!).
I've gone from a 2.0TD Mondeo to a 2.6 V6 petrol, and the increase in power - even for a heavier car - is delicious. A dodgy situation on the M25 today when I had to accelerate hard to get past a line of trucks and still come off at an exit safely, was dispatched with ease - sink the foot to the floor, wait a breath for the autobox to think about it, then POW! :y

nice motor :y

I actually called the guy from Autotrader about this very car yesterday but it was sold! Lucky you!
-
Nice :y
-
Don't throw money at it getting the tracking done... Book yourself a trip to see Tony at Wheels in Motion and he'll transform it even more! :y :y :y
-
nice car-cool colour too 8-)

Nice car for really good money, you did well.
I think those rear lights on stalks are great..anybody know where you might get them from ??

They were fitted to the car when I bought it - apparently they were fitted by the car despatch agency when the car was intended for ministerial use. I'll take some more pictures of them tomorrow and post them up - going to a party tonight, so if anyone sees batman driving a silver miggy in the stevenage area, give us a toot or a wave! ;D

Yeah - I posted a separate thread about that. I'll get it booked into WIM as soon as I stop spending money on the fuel!
-
Thanks "Batman"..look forward to seeing some pictures of lights..hope party was good.
-
Very nice car ..mate. :y

Hi, just bought a v reg elite 2.5 v6 my self, could'nt agree with you more, so much car for not a lot of dough. hope you enjoy it as much as i am! :)
-
Thanks Littlejohn - I'm loving the motor - even to the point that i'm boring my girlfirend to tears about it.
a big, lazy V6 coupled to an autobox makes for fantastic motorway cruising, and enough poke to really fly when I want it to, whilst inside is an oasis of calm. I'm loving it. :y
-
that is fairly lush! :) ...the omega already has rear reading lights on the grab handles in the ceiling though!? :-?
-
yeah - but these lights bend and flex all over the place, even out of the doors, so if you wanted to shine a light in someone's eyes outside the car (for some completely unrelated gestapo-ish reason) then you could do. I think. :D
-
very nice mate good to see another nice miggy in stevenage will look out for you. :y
-
Nice one jimmas - it'll have the omegaowners sticker in the rear window soon - just look out for the silver miggy with scuffed alloys! ;D
-
Nice car, What is the diference between the elite and CDX as everything other than the reading lights look exactly the same as mine.
I only paid £1050 for mine so i must have got a steal as it is in the same condition

I must confess that I'm not entirely sure - apart from the 17" alloys, a boot spoiler, rear blind, Bose stereo, xenon lights, heated seats? I'm not sure what's standard on a CDX! . You DID get a steal, nice one!
-
well i got the lights, heated seats and Wheels the rest is different nice one, you ever lived in potters bar or wood green??????
-
You got the good bits, then - the blind on mine is broken already. >:(
Never lived in either potters bar or wood green, though!

Gloat, Gloat, Gloat..... you really know how to pi$$ a guy off :) :) :) :)

;D ;D ;D ;D
You didn't see the car I was driving - a four year old diseasel mondeo with knackered bearings, bent uprights, broken drivers door handle, aircon that didn't work, a starter motor that didn't start the car three times out of four, a clutch that made rattling noises at standstill unless I had it buried in the floor and bodywork that had frankly seen better days.
This car was four years old, had 150k miles on it, cost me 10 grand when I bought it, and was considerably worse than the 2 grand luxury motor I have parked outside!
-
That is one gorgeous Omega. Possibly one of the best that I have seen! I'm jealous hehe. ;)
-
Nice :y :y :y
-
thanks all for the nice words!
-
Peachy Mig. Any HGV driver will tell you most of our cabs have bendy reading lights above the bunk.
Never seen them in a car though! :y
-
Discovered earlier this week that if they aren't bent right up out of the way, they catch my passengers in the head when they get in.
I would imagine HGVs have more headroom. :)
