Title: De-badged rear end - cool or criminal?
Post by: i260 on 15 June 2009, 02:02:26
Whats your thoughts?

It seems quite an easy job on the facelift versions.

I am planning to just leave the "2.6 V6" and remove the rest.

Anybody done anything similar - I see one or two have gone the whole hog and cleaned up completely which is also nice.

I have OMEGA 2.0 on my back end but under the bonnet hides a 3.0L V6 so it really messes with people especially on entrance ramps when they think they can overtake me and I end up spanking them real bad...

I say do it!

Yeah I'm an advocate of de-badging - so go ahead try it and see!

In some ways I'd rather see less than additional stuff. (like a lot of the 22 year olds that stick 'VXR' all over their dropped 1990 Novas).
As I'm often saying - your car - your thing. If you dont like it change it back or try something else. Give it a go!

All that my car has on the back is Vauxhall and on the other side Elite,  no V6 or 24V or 3.0. so when the idiots come with there boy racer elephants roller scates with the drain pipe exhaust and bass speakers as big as the wheels I just push a little on the gas and leave them looking stupid.

Mine IS saloon - so you are sayin that even on the facelift they use lugs on the back of the badge? Maybe a Holden badge then??

Facelift saloon definitely has two locating pins on the badge & so has 2 holes in the boot .....  ;)

Deffo looks good - the actual painted area is actually quite small so doesn't look odd with no badges.

Hard to justify a bodyshop price just for that mod though!  :-/

I'd say Griffins front and rear, they sit nice and central, whilst binning the omega/engine; or bin the griffs and keep 'omega' and the engine size.

But most of the time i see debadged cars it's because they want to keep the fact its a 1.1, or whatever, hidden!
