Title: AndyOmegaV6's Omega (photos as requested)
Post by: AndyVXR300 on 23 August 2009, 11:39:30
After deciding we needed a second car in the family i decided to source a cheap Omega after it was recommended by a friend as a good quality car, so i set about looking around and come across a 2.5 CDX on a W plate for £800 to try out and keep standard ;D

Well in Febuary this year i brought this one which had 93,000 and Full Service History, the car was very well looked after and just needed a few bits to make perfect like Cambelt, Rocker covers and a good T-Cut as the paint was very flat......

Well its only August 09 and so far i have had Fitted

Full Re-Map & Chip
De Cat Exhaust
Clear Side Repeaters
Upgraded Grill
Full Leather
Electric Rear Blind
MV6 Alloys £75 Bargain on miss spelt items
MV6 Suspension
-35 mm Custom made springs
Auto Dimming Rear Mirror

Well here she is......

Those wheels really set it off nicely, looks excellent. I've always thought the late Elite/MV6 wheels are the best on offer from the Omega range of wheels. And per your other post, they certaily are a bargain  :y

Bear that in mind, £75 a bargain mate, Think I'll start searching for Frost Flake Wheels just in case.  :y

I actually bought my first MV6 of egay a few years back, when England last played Germany in the last World Cup. The item ended half way through the Penalty Shoot out, I was down the Pub with me Mates with one eye on the Plasma and the other on my PDA.

Won the Car, only I Bidder, cheap, Result.  :y

Very nice Andy, like the colour to.

Still haven't fitted the interia bits I had off you yet, but in the end whilst I was having the damage done to the back of  my mig, I got the chap to colour code them instead, the look even better now. Having the climate control face sprayed to match to.
Got to get around to finishing off the boot spoiler & get it attached to my mig hopefully soon.

All I can say is, your wife must be understanding with all the cars you have coming and going chap ?!  :y

Asked my other half some time back when I was working on her car if she could pass me the mole grips.... She looked at me like I was talking Alien... and then it went something like this; "these things...", no, "these things... " no, these things... no there..., "these things...." yes that's them.. "oh you mean the parot beak looking things..."  ;D Priceless..
Love her anyway, no matter.  :)

It looks amazing, but how much HP do you think its got?

I had an encounter with what turned out to be a 335i BMW... and later I found out it was a Twin Turbo Monster... but didnt really seem to be that insane on the road...

I followed him for a while, couple high speed runs... then decided to blow by him... was folloing at around 80mph.... downshifted... got around him and left him maybe 3 cars behind... but immediately noticed that he laid in it as well... and by 110 hi caught up to me and slowly passed me, so I gave up of course... but surprised how long it took him considering he was packin an extra 100hp in a much lighter body!...

I think our omegas are something to respect on the roads...  ::)

T-Cut is a kind of cutting compound designed to polish out marks and small scratches.

I use Auto Glym super resin Polish now, hence the nice shine on the paintwork

I was looking at the Corvette brakes but my rotors are too small and the machine shop wants an arm and a leg to make me hats that will fit my car...

And there was no guarantee that everything will balance out perfectly...

I guess for now my GTO units are keeping up with my demands...

Well certainly keep me updated, I am quite intrigued by this brake upgrade and from my research so far it looks like the VXR had the 354mm brakes but only a single piston caliper... I didnt see any brembo units... can you confirm that or is it just me searching on the wrong spots.

If a brembo caliper is available I am going to have to spare the cash and get me a set too...

This is the only kit I found as an upgrade...

Sourcing the parts you need from other outlets as oppossed to companys like Courtney will save you heaps of money.

As an example i have a contact in Uxbridge who can supply the Disks and the Calipers for £249.00

I have seen the VXR disks on their own on E-Bay for about £220 so it pays to search around first as with anything there is allways a better deal around the corner you just need to be patient
