Title: My Omega transformation... With few pics!
Post by: Dany on 15 April 2010, 14:35:07
I drove to Uk to purchase a complete Imrscher body kit (thanks to nova turbo for this!). Here is the evolution of my work! Click to enlarge!

The base: My Opel Omega Facelift 2003 2,5DTI 150bhp (remapped to 190bhp, 455Nm) Saloon, colour Z158, FULL options.

Beginning... Rub down the parts!

(http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/1535/img9836z.th.jpg) (http://img441.imageshack.us/i/img9836z.jpg/) (http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/26/img9815p.th.jpg) (http://img534.imageshack.us/i/img9815p.jpg/) (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8679/img9817.th.jpg) (http://img153.imageshack.us/i/img9817.jpg/) (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/5681/img9850g.th.jpg) (http://img80.imageshack.us/i/img9850g.jpg/) (http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/3138/img9849v.th.jpg) (http://img245.imageshack.us/i/img9849v.jpg/)

Apply mastic and rub down again!

(http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/7828/img9820i.th.jpg) (http://img28.imageshack.us/i/img9820i.jpg/) (http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2356/img9823o.th.jpg) (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/img9823o.jpg/) (http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7421/img9821z.th.jpg) (http://img718.imageshack.us/i/img9821z.jpg/) (http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/7731/img9822.th.jpg) (http://img177.imageshack.us/i/img9822.jpg/)

Apply the yellow Filler in spray and sanding with 400 and water... Satisfactory results after 2 layer...

(http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4126/img9841i.th.jpg) (http://img690.imageshack.us/i/img9841i.jpg/) (http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3640/img9857.th.jpg) (http://img202.imageshack.us/i/img9857.jpg/) (http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6626/img9852z.th.jpg) (http://img26.imageshack.us/i/img9852z.jpg/) (http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4250/img9851k.th.jpg) (http://img171.imageshack.us/i/img9851k.jpg/)

So, apply the final grey primer for a smoother result... and finally sanding with 800 and water (2 layer). The parts are now ready to be painted!

(http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1403/img9867q.th.jpg) (http://img714.imageshack.us/i/img9867q.jpg/) (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8560/img9866k.th.jpg) (http://img89.imageshack.us/i/img9866k.jpg/) (http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/936/img9864l.th.jpg) (http://img249.imageshack.us/i/img9864l.jpg/) (http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/1313/img9865q.th.jpg) (http://img153.imageshack.us/i/img9865q.jpg/) (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/953/img9861n.th.jpg) (http://img140.imageshack.us/i/img9861n.jpg/) (http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/293/img9863d.th.jpg) (http://img188.imageshack.us/i/img9863d.jpg/) (http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/8467/img9862.th.jpg) (http://img122.imageshack.us/i/img9862.jpg/)

After 3 layer of paint, it's time now to mount all on my car! Starting with the front... And the result after a few time adjustment!

(http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8169/img9880.th.jpg) (http://img186.imageshack.us/i/img9880.jpg/) (http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/9577/img9883n.th.jpg) (http://img704.imageshack.us/i/img9883n.jpg/)

Continue with the rear... I had to remove my towbar otherwise the bumper did not pass... The results mounted on the car, after drilling holes for the parking sensors! And again, after a few time adjustement!!

(http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/7411/img9884i.th.jpg) (http://img245.imageshack.us/i/img9884i.jpg/) (http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/8924/img9888.th.jpg) (http://img86.imageshack.us/i/img9888.jpg/) (http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/7265/img9889.th.jpg) (http://img263.imageshack.us/i/img9889.jpg/) (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/7834/img9890df.th.jpg) (http://img101.imageshack.us/i/img9890df.jpg/) (http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/8817/img9891.th.jpg) (http://img413.imageshack.us/i/img9891.jpg/)

Now the side sills... Removing the originals was be very simple... But it was VERY VERY difficult to mount the two Irmscher!

(http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6289/img9887w.th.jpg) (http://img260.imageshack.us/i/img9887w.jpg/) (http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/7520/img9885.th.jpg) (http://img202.imageshack.us/i/img9885.jpg/) (http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/783/img9892l.th.jpg) (http://img10.imageshack.us/i/img9892l.jpg/) (http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3356/img9895g.th.jpg) (http://img687.imageshack.us/i/img9895g.jpg/)

And the results...

(http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/2451/img9906z.th.jpg) (http://img696.imageshack.us/i/img9906z.jpg/) (http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4223/img9905.th.jpg) (http://img52.imageshack.us/i/img9905.jpg/)

Voilà! That's all for the moment. The rims, the silencer and the wing-type spoiler will be for the next week. I have other things (some badges, wipers, K&N filter, fuel flap cover,...)  that must be mounted on the same time...

Hope you like my job ^^

Thanks Mick!
I think this engine was never available for right hand drive... But it's a pure pleasure to drive it!

The problem is not really the money... It's to find all the parts!!! It's VERY VERY rare now...

PM sent for your query mate!
