Title: Big trouble
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 22 July 2007, 16:12:15
Work tomorrow at 4am.

Nail in my tyre, going flat. No spare, due to LPG tank. Nowhere open for a repair / or new tyre as it's sunday.

Only hope is some of that temp tyre seal stuff... just wonder where I can get any, halfrauds etc also now closed. Any ideas?

It's a risk you take  :o, but it's always niggling away in the back of your mind. The spare that came with my diseasal Astra around Christmas time was f***ed, it wouldn'y hold any air at all. I've just replaced it. :y

There was a spare that came with the veccy when i bought it......but after i got a puncture....i discovered some numpty had swapped it with another wheel and it bl**dy wouldnt fit, 5 stud wheel but the centre hub hole was too small  >:(
Think i ditched it as no point carrying a spare wheel about that wont fit.

Are you in AA/RAC as you could just phone em up and get them to transport you and veccy to Cheltenham......Having no spare coz you've got an lpg tank where the spare goes....is a valid reason for them....i know, i did it when i got a flat  ;)

I guess it wont blow up at all then?

Slightly off subject but it is great up here on Sundays. Different Sunday trading laws so places are open a lot longer and the likes of Tesco and Asda never close ever  :y

Nope!

A few hours later, it's still hard. hopefully it will get me to work, without need for breakdown cover..

Not when it's in Cheltenham, and I'm in Wales...

Good point, but if you get back to Cheltenham ok it would be an idea to throw it in the back.

There is a kit you can buy to install a rubber plug in a tyre and effect a permanent repair at the roadside, and a mate of mine who runs an independant tyre fitters swears by them.

I'll see if I can dredge up the link....
