Hey guys, thanks for your comments, especially about the Elite (or "Ellie" as SWMBO has christened her)!

She is just about the perfect mig for me I recon (only thing she lacks is a CID, but maybe one day...)

The pic was taken on the ABS stand at Billing last year. She'll be at Billing again this, as well as a few OOF meets.  If you see us, please come and say hi!!

Don't have any decent ones of my current cavs (they are only runabout workhorses these days), but the 2 below show my old Cavalier 4x4 Turbo, now owed by a top fella that still drives to work and back in her everyday!  I doubt you'll find a cleaner one very easily!!

Oh yeah, i'd buy it!!!! 8-) Saloon as well, even better. Always fancied one as a trackday car but what with the MV6 & the Cortina i can't afford any more hobbies. :'(

I remember seeing the Elite at Billing. Bottom left of the ABS area to the left of the Lotus Carltons. Mine was parked just outside the ABS area (I'm shy) and is the same car as yours, albeit on a 52 plate.  :y

Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association (basically the main Vauxhall car show of the year, in July so the weather is usually pretty good, always an awesome weekend)!!

I remember seeing yours too mate! Incredibly clean paintwork!! IIRC you had chrome tailpipes... Are they slide on tips, or is it a replacement exhaust?

It's a stainless Jetex system from the Cats back.  :y
Perhaps this year we could do a 'Twins' photo. Better get the Collinite out ready for it.  ;D ;D :y
Your Omega must be one of the last one's built mustn't it?

Just noticed that your avatar is almost the same as my ABS forum one, without the tent though.  :y

Regards
Alan

I had a feeling it might be! Was it expensive? Was you old exhaust past it? What's the exhaust note like? Any noticable performance advantage?

My OE system is fine at the moment, its only the exhaust tips that have a bit of surface rust on them, hence the idea of getting some chrome tips. Don't want it looking tacky though.  :-/

Well up for that! But only if you help me polish mine first, since you're obviously much better at it then me!  ;D :y

She's registered in Sept 2003. I know there are some police specials registered on 04, 54 and even 05 plates, but I don't actually know when the last ones were made. I know the police like to buy up the last of a model and register them as they want them. They did the same with the last Senators IIRC.

It's not the best addition to the pic is it! Photoshop anyone?  ;)

Old exhaust was as rotten as a pear in the area where the drive shafts drip road water on it. The rest of the system was quite good though. I fitted the Jetex myself and it cost just under £500 delivered to my door. This was on par with the price that LongLife quoted me but they could not fit a backbox in properly so I opted for the Jetex which is a very good fit.
Jetex exhausts are not noisy. Due to the large bore stainless there is a bit of boom when you accelerate but under normal driving it is quiet. When you give it some stick it sounds more or less the same as the standard exhaust. I never noticed any improvement in performance though. :'( :'(

TBH, I wouldn't expect you to notice any difference in performance, seeing as you still have 4 cats in the system.  Still, it looked awesome!!

I Look forward to having a closer look at the photo-shoot!!  :y

Are you coming to the Hampshire meet on the 26th?

I'll definately be at Billing again this.  Will you be on the ABS stand this time? Would be good to have them parked alongside each other!  :y
