Title: Sunny Suffolk Day.
Post by: duggs on 03 April 2011, 16:23:12
Took an opportunity to clean and polish the car today, leaving my Ham Roll unattended in the kitchen...as you'll see from the last picture...it went "missing".

Know what you mean regarding the Holden Racing decal, tis just to "break" up the "black" basically...something different.

The only thing is, to date, well over a dozen people have said "wow never seen an Australian Omega before"...I DO put them right.

Thank you for your kind comments, the car was originally owned by the BBC to transport celebs around...sadly no more famous bums sit in her now.

HE HE HE HE....Yes, think the dog was rather mesmerised by the flash going off 2 inches from her face...Least it captured the guilty look rather well.

Whilst she had found the ham roll, strangely the ham part had completely disappeared by that time. She was attempting to hide the evidence...not very well as it turned out.

Motor looks very nice mate ;).  I like the holden badges and don't mind the sport decal on the doors i would have had the one on the drivers door re-done so it faced the same way as the other side but thats just me lol. ;D

Lovely!

I think Austrailian Omega's quite a good idea! ;D

What particular brand/product do you use to get such a lovely shine? Really does make the black 'come and get you' (as it were)

Like the Veccie wheels too......... :y :y

Fortunately she's  low mileage and black metallic.

A good wash and black turtle wax and that's as she came out.

Decal wise, that's how they arrived from Ebay Australia, they weren't handed as it turned out. Thats the Aussie's for you.

Hi Duggs,

Firstly, it's good to see another local Suffolk mig owner on here! Secondly, the car looks spot on,  and I shall be bringing mine round very soon for you to have a go at, cos I'll be buggered if I can get mine to shine like that!!

I don't suppose you recently bought the Vectra C rims from a guy in Felixstowe called Stewie did ya?

No I didn't Twiglet. Got them via ebay over last Xmas, £160.00.

It appears that black metallic looks good very quickly with a wash and wax...BUT on the flipside, they look dirty much quicker than most also.

Totally agree mate.  Mine seems to get dirty just sitting on the driveway from dust in the air!  Still recon it's the best colour for a mig though!  :y

You could try my methord of washing mate but it will take you a bit of time but its worth it in the long run.  I pre wash it first with snow foam and then rinse, Then wash with two bucket methord with grit guards in the buckets,  Then bead with the hoes,  Then dry with drying towl and get it as dry as you can i also use my airline to blow out from trim and lights etc you could use a leef blower,  Then clay with detailer,  Then wash over again and dry,  Then poilsh, Then finish off with a realy good wax and your done. ;D ;D ;D ;D But on the plus side the next time you wash it and dry it with a drying towel and a detailer as a drying aid it will come as though you have just done the hole thing again and looks fantastic.  I try to do this just before winter so its protceted from the all the snow and crap and then again just as the summer starts so looks great in the sunlight. :y :y
