Regretfully it seems I have no choice but to offer my Omega for sale...
FX02 XAO is a Vauxhall Omega 2.2 petrol manual saloon, CDX specification presented in Nocturno blue. It is complemented by velour light grey shale interior.
It was first registered on the 28/03/2002
It has only covered a genuine 35,963 miles from new with all MOT's and service records to support this.
The cambelt, tensioners, pulleys and water pump were changed by JamesV6CDX on the 11/07/09 @ 35,295. So very recently. MOT expires April 3rd 2010 and Tax expires on the 31/10/2009.
This is my pride and joy, and it is regularly cleaned and polished. The only defects are light scuffing to the front bumper.
On the 02/04/2009 it was fully serviced, new plugs, filters, oil etc.
It is badged as a 3.2 V6 and has the twin tailpipe backbox like a genuine 3.2 would. 1st picture shows it with exhaust before new system fitted.
I am looking for £2700 for it, I paid a lot for it only 1 year and 3 months ago.
It has been totally reliable in the 7000 miles I have covered in it, never had any warning lights and never let me down.
Specification:
2.2 engine producing 144 bhp, and before you ask...no I do't have the missing cyinders lol. I find the 4 cylinder engine adequate.
Manual
Xenon's with dynamic beam levelling and headlight washers
Heated seats
Cruise control
CCR 2006 with 4 disc autochanger
16'' alloy wheels, tyres have at least 5 or 6 mm
Electric sunroof, mirrors and windows
Dual zone climate control
Usual CDX spec, please ask if you require any more detail.
As per profile, vehicle located in Kidlington, 4 miles from Oxford city centre.
If you look at similiar mile one's, they are much more expensive and lower spec.

i see you have chicken'd in and gone for a V6? ;D
Its a very clean example with very low miles, good price that should sell easily. However here is not the best place, and nor is eBay. Get it on autotrader :y

Hehe, well I was thinking about a V6. But had a change of plan, going to buy a few cars at auction, see if I can make a touch of profit. Then buy another Omega and have some spare cash left. I'm only doing this as my insurance is cripling me. £192 per month, just can't keep it up anymore :'(
Can I tempt you by it tunnie? ;D

Lend it to me, I'll have it ruined in a week judging by my car history... ;)
And £192 a month? Cripes, I'd wager there's members on here paying less than that for a year!

It is nice, but I also think a bit too much.
Why the 3.2 V6 badges on a 2.2 S4 car though? :-/
-
I went to a carwash and they a brush, he used it on the back and ripped the Omega 2.2 badge off. Well it only said 'ga 2.2'. I went to my local Vaux dealer who are always good to me to order a new nameplate. They had the Omega 3.2 V6 badge allready in and I got it for £10 less than retail price. So thought why not.
-
Really nice car but at todays prices I recon you will be lucky to get £2k.
I have been looking for a few days on autotrader and you would be suprised at what you can get for £1k-£1.5k.
Theres even an 03 less than £2k admitedly with slightly higher mileage.
Good luck with your sale :)
-
I fully appreciate the fact I'm asking near top dollar for it, but if you compare it to others on the market you'd be suprised it's good value. It is in mint condition, it just depends on if people appreciate the spec. Some people don't care about Xenon's and heated seats etc, so a GLS would suit them. But this has good spec, good miles and you won't need to spend any money on it. For example there's a 2002 2.2 CD with very similiar miles for £3995.
I spent a long time finding this car, and have kept it clean, well serviced and wanting for nothing.

Price is fine, and good luck with the sale, very nice car... can't understand why so many people seem to think the car is overpriced!! afterall nice Omega's are few and far between ;)

Thanks Lee 7Star, I appreciate the comment :y

The reason people think it's overpriced is that if you look on Autotrader there are plenty about from £1k up,not as new or as low miles but quite a reasonable selection.

Well then you are not comparing like with like, and so the point you make does not carry so much weight. IMO a 35K mile Omega is worth a premium because of it's low mileage especially as they have now been out of production for 6+ years...

mo chara, lovely car and all the best with the sale lad :y
-
Any interest in it? If no interest I will retail it on Autotrader and Ebay. That will cost me £55. If anyone on here wants it I will knock what it would cost me to sell i.e the £55 off the price.

Autotrader is your best bet, here is not the best place to sell.

Agree 100% with Auto Trader
Example, i used to sell all my parts on here but people seem to want everything for nothing and i now sell 3 times the amount of parts just by sourcing a new outlet to sell through....
Good Luck with the sale though :y
-
very nice looking car you should get a good price for it .try putting her on pistonheads it does'nt cost you nothing and you can put pics on good look mate :y
-
Nice motor - good luck with the sale - I'd lose the 3.2 badge though - reminds me of the reps that used to rebadge their 1.6L cortinas as 2.0GXL to feel more important!!
-
This is still for sale, I've had plenty of calls about it as it's now on Autotrader but no one's come to view it yet. I'll happily consider sensible offers :y

Just shows - you should hold out for what it's worth if you can! By the way Autoweb is another free website that you can load 8 pictures up to. - WAL :)

Glad you sold it - I think the price was well reasonable, especially compared to what a dealer would have had it up for. If I was not hell bent on having a V6 I'd have snapped your hand off - well done :y
