Title: FS 1999 Omega 2.5TD (BMW Engine)
Post by: Spearmint on 12 November 2009, 17:05:32
Selling because the Headgasket has gone and I have neither the time or the patience to repair it.

Up until the HG went it did have a 'warm' running issue so the warning was there.

In my attempt to solve it I changed the water pump, stat and radiator. Oil changed every 4000miles.

It no longer has a viscous fan or any of the shroud around it.

I have changed the gearbox for an AR35 and chipped the ECU so when it's working it is a nice motorway cruiser returning about 36mpg.

It is a non runner but if someone is willing to change the HG then you'll have a good car again.

All sensible offers considered.

If you decide to break it, give us shout on the alloys.

Cheers

I'm sure it says 1999 on the V5 I'll have to dig it out but yes it is the Facelift version.

A bit of TLC and she's a winner. ;)

Also as mentioned - any sensible offers considered. :D

Really can't bring myself to buy a car that colour though....   ....if it was a manual, I may possibly make an exception though....

....must stop looking..........

Considering this car has Tax / MOT till end of July 2010, new rad, water pump and stat, 2x new front tyres, recon AR35 gearbox and chipped ECU I have set the price at:

£900 or nearest sensible offer.

Best of luck... It's not too bad a fix for someone who's experienced :y :y

I would really like rid of the car before the end of the month henceforth I am dropping the asking price to £500 but it will come with no Tax.

Don't forget it's a non runner ;) ;)

I'd be tempted if it were nearer to me too... Although I dodn't know how long I'd keep it after fixing it :y :y

Just seems too good to break... If I bought it I'd end up doing the HG and putting it back on the road :y :y

My reason is it's the same colour as mine (Z359) and it's a facelift, mines mini f/l. Any ideas where I'm heading with that? ;D ;D

If you rigged up a 205 litre drum on a trailer with a pump feeding water into the reservoir then you could make it a fair distance! :D

Looks like Ebay then.
